A Retired Government Official Awakens

(Clearwisdom.net) My father is a retired government official who served the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for almost his entire life. I was excited and eager to explain the facts about Falun Gong to my father soon after I began cultivation practice. However, he had so many notions in his head and was heavily brainwashed by the CCP. I recalled once having read a good experience-sharing article written by Mr. Li Qihua, who used to be a soldier in the Red Army. I thought this article might be helpful for my Dad and brought him a copy.

He took a look at the article, scolded me and showed me the door. He was angry about this incident for a long time.

Because I remained steadfast in practicing Falun Dafa, I suffered persecution after the CCP banned Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. I was illegally detained several times. My father used to be very proud of me, but the CCP's constant fabrications and poisoning of people's minds obstructed his thinking. In his mind, I used to be a kind and caring person. My practice of Falun Gong, however, now embarrassed him. He thought I was looking for trouble and should be detained to be "re-educated". I could see how the CCP culture had managed to twist his thinking. I became angry with him and complained about how hard it was to save a human being.

My father was getting older. It was important for him to recognize the CCP's evil nature. Quitting the CCP could ensure that he could be saved. Helping him understand the truth was the most of kind and caring thing to do for him.

Master said, "...all beings have come for the Fa." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference") Assisting Teacher in Fa-rectification is each of our Dafa practitioner's responsibility. It is also my responsibility to offer my father salvation. How could I hate him? After the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party were published, I frequently told my father about the damage that the CCP had created for the whole nation of China.

I found opportunities to get rid of all of the CCP propaganda materials, including books, pictures, memoirs and songs. I attempted to eliminate the evil substances in other dimensions and the evil Communist specter around my father.

I also found time to have a heart-to-heart talk with him and told him about my experiences in the detention center, at the forced labor camp and in prison. I told him how inhumane the CCP is. After he listened to my experiences, he cried and said, "This is too evil; the CCP has destroyed itself."

I spoke to my father about the origin of the Communist specter and how evil these specters are. I let him know the whole sinister history of the CCP, that since 1949 when the CCP took over China, 40 million Chinese citizens have died from starvation and another 40 million have died as a result of various CCP-led movements. I related stories of many older government officials who were purged and persecuted during the Cultural Revolution. I went on to tell him the true story of the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre, where the CCP ordered the People's Liberation Army to open fire on unarmed students and to shoot people in the streets. I then talked about how now the CCP has ordered and carried out a ruthless persecution of Falun Gong practitioners who firmly believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance". The CCP even endorsed organ harvesting from detained, living Falun Gong practitioners and criminals on death row for profit. The CCP's notorious brutality and complete disregard for the sanctity of human life are unequaled in history.

Throughout his life, my father was controlled by the CCP. During times of war, he killed people. After that, he was one of the CCP's hatchet men, but he was also a victim of the CCP. Now he was getting older and had many illnesses. He needs constant care. We used our own experiences to tell him how Falun Gong had made us physically and mentally healthy, and told him of Master's grand compassion. Father eventually began to recognize the importance of quitting the CCP.

One day my brother and I visited my father. He suddenly got out of bed and shouted, "The CCP is an evil Party! I want to quit the CCP!" We paused for a while and smiled with happiness. My father could be saved, after all.

I told my father, "Dad, you are getting old. Keeping healthy is your number one priority, but you cannot rely on others. Only Master can save you. You should often say, 'Master is great!' 'Falun Dafa is great!' and 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance are good!' You can be saved. There is an old saying, 'Hearing the Tao in the morning, one can die in the evening'. Even though you will die when it is your time, you can still go to a better place. Do you believe that?" Father nodded and said, "I do, I do! Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance are good! Falun Dafa is good!"

On another occasion, when I showed Master's picture to him, Father made the Heshi gesture and said, "Master, how are you? You are here to save people. I was wrong in the past, and I hope you can forgive me. "

With the elimination of evil substances in other dimensions, my father's attitude was getting better and better. He was willing to have us read Dafa books to him. He would keep quiet when we were practicing the Falun Gong exercises.

In the past, my father scolded us and did not want me to take care of him. He was irritated when I explained the truth. Now, he listens carefully and sometimes he is deeply moved by the facts. We have become closer. He also reminds me to be careful and not to let the evildoers from the CCP find reasons to persecute me. He often says, "Master is great!" "Falun Dafa is good!" and 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance are good!" He takes less medication and sleeps better. His attitude is better, and he is kinder and has more energy.

Master has carried a lot of burdens for us. Thinking of this often makes me cry. Master has asked us to do the three things. No matter how much we do, we should give it our best efforts, study the Fa, keep up with the Fa-rectification process and do well on our cultivation path.
