(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Yang Sufeng, a 49-year-old retired employee of the Jijie Railway Station of Gejiu City, Yunnan Province, started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. She steadily followed the teachings of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and tried to be a better person. She soon improved her health, both physically and spiritually. Then someone reported her when she was clarifying the facts and distributing informational materials in a rural area in Sandaogou, Jijie Town, on March 21, 2005. Personnel from the 610 Office and the Gejiu City Police Department had her sentenced to forced labor for two-and-a-half years. Ms. Yang was subjected to brainwashing and mentally pressured when she was in the First Forced Labor Camp of Yunnan Province. She was so severely injured, both physically and mentally, that she was very weak when she was released in June 2007. She passed away in a hospital on November 11, 2007.

Ms. Chen Yuecui, born on July 20, 1952, was retired from the Power Supply Section of Chongqing City. She started to practice Falun Gong in 1999. The police illegally arrested her from her home in early 2002, right before the Chinese Lunar New Year, and took her to Maoxiangou Detention Center in Jiulongpo. In 2004, the authorities arrested her again and took her to the Baishiyi Brainwashing Center in Chongqing City. Her family took her home after a month, but by then Ms. Chen had been tortured and become very weak. She died on February 22, 2005.

Ms. Hou Shuxiu, 61 years old, used to work in administration in the Bureau of Forestry, Yingchun, Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province. She experienced great improvements after she started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. She had a stroke in July 1998, and her family sent her to the hospital. Ms. Hou stayed in the hospital for only two weeks and went back home without having fully recovered. She continued practicing Falun Gong after she returned home and completely recovered. Her husband and daughter both witnessed the power of Falun Gong and started to practice themselves. After the Communist regime started to suppress Falun Gong in 1999, officers from the police station went to their home to force Ms. Hou to sign the three statements. Ms. Hou refused because she thought that there was nothing wrong with following the teachings of Falun Gong and trying to be a better person. The police then threatened her. She suffered a relapse of her stroke and her husband was "illegally arrested." The mental trauma caused her health to deteriorate, and she passed away on July 15, 2005.
