Little Hong Hong's Family's Bitter Experience
(Clearwisdom.net) Hong Hong is only seven years old. Unfortunately, a few
days ago, she was arrested with her mom and dad. Hong Hong's dad, Tong Huanxiang, is a person of very high moral standards. He
holds the position of chairperson of Weihai City's Chess Institute in Shandong
Province. From 1996 to 2002, he was the grand champion title holder for the
chess championship tournament in Weihai. In 2004, he was awarded the title
"Weihai Chess King." In recent years he has played a significant role
in the promotion and development of chess in Weihai. During Mr. Tong's tenure as chair of Tianhuo Chess Institute, his
enterprising efforts have resulted in his students earning championships in
various tournaments throughout Shandong Province. This year, his students won
the championship title for females in the "A" category. On October 3,
4, and 5 (just before his arrest) he oversaw the first session of Weihai's
"Haifei's Cup" Ten Best Chess Competition sponsored by the Shandong
Province Sports Bureau. Citizens of Weihai commented very favorably on the
tournament. It was evaluated and rated as the best session ever. Mr. Tong originally believed the slander and hate propaganda about Falun Gong
that was broadcast and published by the television and newspaper media when the
persecution started in July 1999. After he had the opportunity to see a
truth-clarification CD, he realized that the so-called
"Tiananmen Square self-immolation" was really a hoax--a hoax created
to defame and incite hatred toward Falun Gong practitioners. When he went
abroad, he discovered that there were people practicing Falun Gong everywhere,
the complete opposite of what the Chinese Communist Party had been
propagandizing. On the afternoon of October 11, 2007, Hong Hong went out with her parents to
visit a friend's family. On their way home, several plainclothes police
officers, accompanied by an armed guard, got out of a jeep and confronted them.
Under the pretext of an investigation, the family was forcefully taken away to
the Gao-Ou Area Police Station in Weihai, Shandong Province. The family was separated--Mr. Tong confined to one room and Hong Hong and her
mom in another. Hong Hong was very frightened, crying and wailing all the time.
She couldn't stop visiting the restroom, almost every ten minutes. The police
confiscated her parents' handbags, their keys, and personal belongings, without
any formal procedures or explanation. They forcefully entered their home and
workplace and removed two desktop computers, one laptop, one printer, a portable
hard drive, a paper cutter, MP3 players, and other items. They also impounded
their car and the Chess Institute's tuition fee deposit of nearly fifty thousand
yuan. Their home and work place were ransacked. That same day, Mr.
Tong was sent to Haiwei Detention Center. Hong Hong and her mother were later
released and allowed to go home at midnight. Several days passed. Hong Hong asked her mother every day when her dad would
come home. When mother and Daughter went to see him in the detention center, the
security bureau refused to give them permission. Why does Hong Hong have to be subjected to this unfair treatment? It is
because of her family's belief in the principles of
"Truth-Compassion-Tolerance;" it is because they strive to be good and
have high moral standards. Every day Hong Hong waits in anticipation for her dad to come home quickly! Posting date: 11/25/2007
