Persecution Facts at Jiepai Town, Mengyin County, Shandong Province (Part 2)

(Clearwisdom.net) Government officials and police in Jiepai Town, Mengyin County, Shandong Province, have collaborated over the past eight years to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Officials have abused their authority to arrest, torture and brainwash Falun Dafa practitioners; to illegally search their homes, extort money from them, and persecute them using all means imaginable.

The following are several cases of persecution in this area:

1. Ms. Liu Naizhi, 39, is a farmer from Dongjiepai Village. She used to fall ill frequently and often had conflicts with her husband and mother-in-law. After she began to practice Falun Gong in 1998, she regained her health and a harmonious, happy family. After the persecution started, Ms. Liu was locked up and brainwashed in the town government building. Officials forced the practitioners to march in the streets while wearing signs with insulting words and labels, publicly humiliating them. The authorities confiscated everything in Ms. Liu's house, and she was forced to leave town. In June 2001 the police arrested Ms. Liu and locked her in the local detention center. She was sentenced to eight years in Jinan Women's Prison. Her younger brother was sentenced to three years in Jinan Prison for practicing Falun Gong.

2. Mr. Liu Nailun, 38, worked at the Mengyin County Information Production Company. After the persecution started, the authorities repeatedly tried to force Mr. Liu to write statements renouncing Falun Gong. He was detained three times and was beaten, scolded, force-fed, and brainwashed for three months. Mr. Liu was under surveillance three months and was sentenced to prison for three years on March 23, 2001. His wife, unemployed and experiencing financial difficulties, mental distress, and pressure from the CCP, later divorced him. In October 2004, Mr. Liu, while clarifying the truth, was arrested in Hedong District, Linyi City. He was sentenced to four years and is currently imprisoned and suffering torture in Tai'an Prison.

3. In October 2000, Mr. Feng Guangshi, from Wanghe Village, traveled to another town to clarify the truth. Police officers from the Dawangzhuang Police Station arrested him, took his money, beat him, detained him at the Yinan County Detention Center for seven days, and transferred him to the Jiepai Town Police Station. Zhang Wenjia, head of the police station, ordered officers to search his home. Police extorted several thousand yuan from Mr. Feng and seized his son's grain storage. Mr. Feng was then transferred to the Mengyin County Detention Center for two months. In March 2004, Guo Ande, former Village CCP Secretary, led Jiepai Town government officials and broke into Mr. Feng's house to perform another search, seizing Dafa materials. The police took Mr. Feng to the town hall and extorted over 1000 yuan from him.

4. Ms. Cheng Peihua is from Wanghe Village. On June 21, 2001, Di Xiaolin, head of the town 610 Office, led a group of people and searched Ms. Cheng's home without a warrant. They seized 300 yuan in cash, a bank book with over 8,000 yuan deposited, a motorcycle, a television, a recorder, a fan, a sewing machine, and a gas stove. They arrested Ms. Cheng and later often came to her home to harass her.

5. On February 4, 2004, Yang Xiyou, head of the Jiepai Town 610 Office, and twelve officers from the Jiepai Town Police Station broke into and ransacked Ms. Zhang Wenhua's home, taking away all of her Dafa books and audiotapes and portraits of Master Li. They extorted 4,000 yuan from Ms. Zhang and arrested her. Ms. Zhang was detained at the police station for three days. Each holiday since then, the government officials would break into and search Ms. Zhang's home.

6. Ms. Li Zuozhi, 43, is from Yiwenzhuang Village. Ms. Li's chronic stomachache, inflammation of the uterus, leg pain, and ear infection disappeared after she started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. In 2000, the Jiepai Town officials illegally fined her 700 yuan. At 10 p.m. on April 21, 2004, a dozen people, including Jiepai Town official Yang Xiyou, and police officer Ma Lin broke into Ms. Li's home and arrested her. They locked Ms. Li in the Jiepai Police Station for three days. The head of the police station brutally beat her and transferred her to the Jiepai Town Hall, where she was tortured for three days. On April 28, the town officials extorted an additional 2,000 yuan before releasing her.

7. Ms. Zong Guirong is from Shiwanghe Village. Jiepai town officials and police officers arrested Ms. Zong in June 2001 after she talked to other people about Dafa. During her week-long detention, police officers savagely tortured her. They forced her to stand under the scorching sun for a long time, brainwashed her, burned her chin with cigarette butts, cut her hair, slapped, kicked, and beat her with hard objects. The town officials later extorted 6,000 yuan from her before letting her go. In February 2004, the Jiepai Town government and police officers broke into Ms. Zong's house and confiscated Dafa materials. Ms. Zong was taken to the Jiepai Town Police Station and tortured for another week. She was forced to pay another 7,500 yuan before her release.

8. Ms. Wang Guiqin, 47, from Liuzhuang Village, suffered severe lower back pain before practicing Falun Gong. After practicing, the pain disappeared and she told everyone that Teacher had give her a second life, and that Dafa saved her. On February 2, 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested by Jiepai police upon her return. Officers Yang Xu and Shi Kuang searched her house and confiscated her television, fan, and radio. Ms. Wang was detained for six days and forced to pay 500 yuan before her release. In March 2004, Ms. Wang was arrested again and detained in the town police station for six days and forced to pay another 2,500 yuan.
