A Practitioner's Duty By a practitioner in China
(Clearwisdom.net) Another practitioner recently asked me whether I did
morning exercises every day. I replied, "No, not every day." She then
told me about an elderly practitioner near her who got up every morning at about
3:00 a.m. to do the exercises. She began doing so after the persecution began on
July 20, 1999, which led to the elimination of group practice sites in China.
When she read a notice on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website that exercise music
would be played on-line every morning at 3:50 a.m., she began practicing the
exercises faithfully and has not missed even a single day. When the practitioner
praised her, saying, "You are great," the senior practitioner replied
that she was simply doing her duty. The practitioner told me, "When she spoke of her 'duty,' I was very
impressed and deeply moved." Yes, it is a cultivator's duty to study the
Fa and to practice the exercises. If you are a true practitioner, it
is certainly your duty. How could a Dafa disciple not do these things? When I
think about the shortcomings in my own practice, I feel embarrassed and ashamed. Master has done a lot for us and has never said a single word about
"suffering." He cherishes us more than we do. My personal
understanding is that although Dafa disciples in China cannot do group exercises
at present, Master encourages us not to neglect the transformation of our bodies
that takes place when we practice together. For this reason, he has arranged an
environment in which we can practice the exercises together at a specific time.
This helps Dafa disciples to cultivate diligently and to improve together. He
has truly given a lot of thought to this matter. It is indeed a fact that
"Buddha's mercy is boundless." It is an opportunity granted by the
heavens that barely comes once in a thousand years. If we missed it, we would
regret it forever! I discussed this with the other practitioner, and we decided to encourage and
remind each other from that point on. We will start each day by performing our
duty as Dafa disciples. Posting date: 11/4/2007 |
