Feedback for Fellow Practitioners Who Filmed the Video for "Fa-Teaching Given to the Australian Falun Dafa Practitioners" By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Australia
(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, I watched the video of Teacher's "Fa-Teaching
Given to the Australian Falun Dafa Practitioners." I had some mixed
feelings, especially in the beginning when Teacher said, "Greetings,
all!" The picture focused on fellow practitioners from behind and not
Teacher. There were several scenes in the middle of the video that were poorly
filmed. I would like to share some thoughts with the fellow practitioners who
filmed the video. 1. Planning Ahead We should make sure to set everything up beforehand and adjust for the
lighting, acoustics, and other considerations. By planning ahead, we can prevent
scenarios where there is no usable shot or poor audio quality. 2. Practitioners Should Look at Things from the Standpoint of the Fa As practitioners, no matter what we are doing, we should look at things from
the standpoint of the Fa. When we are filming Teacher teaching the
Fa, we should be even more meticulous, serious, and diligent. Otherwise, it is
disrespectful to Teacher and Dafa. For the first eight minutes of the video, Teacher's voice cannot be heard
clearly. The translator's voice is much louder. During the lecture, there were
several wide-angle shots of the meeting room that were poor. This might have
been the result of a lack of planning. When Teacher said, "Greetings,
all!" we hear Teacher's voice but cannot see him. We only saw the backs of
some practitioners. At the end, when Teacher taught the Fa again, we could not
see Teacher. Again we could only see fellow practitioners from behind. My heart
was troubled as I watched these shots. 3. Respecting Teacher and Dafa, Starting with the Details In order to ensure quality, it might be best to have two cameras rolling when
Teacher is teaching the Fa. One camera can be placed in the back of the
conference room for medium and wide-angle shots. A second, mobile camera can
shoot close-ups and medium shots. This will give editors some choices when
editing the video. For the videos taken when Teacher taught the Fa in Guangzhou, Jinan, and
Dalian before 1999, the video and audio were very clear, even though the video
cameras were not as good as the ones now. From these videos, we could feel the
mainland practitioners' respectful hearts towards Teacher and Dafa. Many years have passed since then. Practitioners have become more and more
mature. Especially outside China, we should have acquired much better skills in
capturing Teacher's Fa lecture. Posting date: 11/9/2007 |
