(Clearwisdom.net) The Holiday Wonders and Chinese New Year Spectacular performed by Divine Performing Arts will be shown in more than sixty cities around the world. The global tour will be started on December 18, 2007, at the Beacon Theatre, 2124 Broadway, New York City. The Chinese New Year Spectacular will be shown at the Merriam Theater in Philadelphia from January 4-6, 2007. The City Council of Philadelphia issued a citation to welcome the Chinese New Year Spectacular Tour to Philadelphia. Below is the text of the citation.

The Council of the City of Philadelphia is pleased and proud to welcome the Chinese New Year Spectacular Tour from January 4-6, 2008.

Whereas, The Greater Philadelphia Asian Cultural Center (GPACC) is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to sharing the beauty and grandeur of traditional culture with communities throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. The Center's objectives are to enhance cultural exchange and mutual understanding between East and West, and to serve as a link between Asian American and mainstream American communities throughout Greater Philadelphia; and

Whereas, From January 4-6, 2008, GPACC will host the largest celebration of Chinese Culture in the world, the New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) Chinese New Year Spectacular, which will take place at the Merriam Theater and the University of the Arts. The Chinese New Year Spectacular will tour 50 cities across four continents, beginning in Philadelphia; and

Whereas, The Chinese New Year Spectacular is a unique opportunity to strengthen our communities and foster understanding between Chinese and Western societies through breathtaking performing arts; and

Whereas, The Chinese New Year Spectacular features dazzling performances of Chinese classical dance and celebrates traditional Chinese culture through magnificent choreography, amazing costumes and inspiring sets; and

Whereas, The Chinese New Year Spectacular will enhance the cultural and economic vitality of our grand City, Philadelphia, and promote tolerance and understanding among different cultures and races.

Therefore, By virtue of this Citation, the Council of the City of Philadelphia is pleased and proud to welcome The Chinese New Year Spectacular tour from January 4-6, 2008. We hope your tour is a resounding success and extend the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body. Congratulations!
