UK: London Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in World Human Rights Day (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) December 10, 2007 was the 59th World Human Rights Day. London Falun Gong practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy in London to hold a candlelight vigil in the evening. The gathering of Falun Gong practitioners sent a clear message, "Immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong."

Candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Embassy

Falun Gong practitioners' wish: "Immediately stop the persecution"

In the cold evening wind, the practitioners lit candles. Some practitioners held a sit-in protest in front of the Chinese Embassy to commemorate the more than 3000 Falun Gong practitioners who lost their lives in the brutal persecution by the Chinese Communist regime during the past eight years. Under the street light, some practitioners displayed banners that said, "Falun Gong, a peaceful meditation group - Falun Gong is being persecuted in China," "The Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong has continued for more than eight years," and "Stop the genocide against Falun Gong." Many pedestrians and drivers passing by took truth-clarifying flyers. Some of the Falun Gong practitioners who participated in the activities were imprisoned in forced labor camps by the Chinese Communist regime due to their persisting in their practice. Some participants peacefully protested around the clock every day in front of the Chinese Embassy in London. Some did truth-clarification in London's Chinatown to Chinese people and advised them to quit Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. Some recently came from China, and it's the first time they have been able to freely speak out against the persecution. Some were western practitioners who have explained the facts and called for an end of the persecution of Falun Gong in front of the Chinese Embassy in London for a long time. These practitioners of different ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds gathered on World Human Rights Day because of their wish to convey their appeal to people from all walks of life in Britain: "Let us work together to stop the persecution of Falun Gong."
