Mr. Liu Peng Died in Tianjin City (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Liu Peng was born on October 26, 1966, and lived in Tianjin City. He began practicing Falun Gong in 1997.

In October 2000, the police arrested Mr. Liu from his home and detained him in the Hebei District Detention Center. He was forced to labor for more than ten hours per day and tortured by having three basins of cold water poured over his head, causing him to loose control of his lower limbs. He was in extreme pain and could not stand up. He had to crawl on the floor with his elbows. His clothes were all torn from being dragged along the ground. There were scabs all over his body, and he was coughing up blood.

In spite of his pitiable physical condition, he was transferred to the Shuangkou Labor Camp in Tainjin City in the freezing cold winter of 2000. Because he could not stand up, the guards left him in the snow, causing his legs to severely swell. His scabs stuck to his clothes and he had to endure the pain of cleaning out the pus on his legs with a spoon. He was disabled.

He was released in 2001, but his legs had not recovered, and they would easily swell when he tried to stand up for even a little while. His wife had to find a job to support the family. The local police and the neighborhood administrators constantly harassed him, threatened him, and watched him closely. The neighborhood administrative Chair said, "There is no term limit for Falun Gong practitioners. We can imprison you for however long we want." Whenever any practitioners were arrested in the neighborhood, the police would interrogate Mr. Liu.

Having endured such mental and physical torture, Mr. Liu Peng died on November 13, 2007, at age 41, leaving his wife and ten-year-old daughter.
