NTDTV in Washington D.C., Mr. Xiang Dong, to introduce the Holiday Wonders to
the audience in the morning of December 17. Mr. Xiang said: "China has been called the land of divine. Holiday
Wonders is performed by the Divine Performing Arts, a New York based dance
company. In China, ancient legends of gods, Buddhas and Taos have been passed on
generation after generation. Spirituality is at the essence in Chinese history
and culture. Our Holiday Wonders is going to show that in a very authentic way.
We are going to present authentic and traditional Chinese culture in a grand
scale." "We have singing, dancing and music. The music is full of divine power
of compassion and dances are very classical. You should see those costumes. In
each dance, the costumes are as beautiful as the dance movements
themselves." The hostess asked if Holiday Wonders is related to the holiday traditions
that American are used to, or audience will see a set of completely new holiday
costumes. Mr. Xiang said: "It connects to Christmas too. Because we are
trying to show the best quality of Chinese culture, and a lot of values in
Chinese culture are universal, such as loyalty, honesty, respecting others and
respect to gods. So, I think these connect to Christmas." The hostess thanked Mr. Xiang and recommended Holiday Wonders to the
audience: "The shows are touring and this is the one chance to be able to
see the performance. Holiday Wonders is at Lyric Opera House at 8:00 o'clock
tomorrow. So, make sure you don't miss it." Posting date: 12/19/2007 |
