Letting Go of the Attachment to Minor Illnesses and Using Special Products
(Clearwisdom.net) As Falun Dafa practitioners, we all know that we are
free of illness. Although I've noticed that I do pay attention to some major
symptoms, when it comes to minor illnesses or annoyances that cannot be
categorized as an illness, I am actually not very concerned about them. For
instance, my underarms smell; I have beriberi; sometimes I have phlegm in my
throat; during the winter, I have a runny nose with yellowish mucus; etc. Some
of these symptoms started before I began practicing Falun Dafa, therefore I did
not take them seriously. To me, having the flu with a fever, inflammation, or
cancer is recognized as being ill, and naturally these illnesses won't happen to
me. And the annoyances I mentioned earlier, because of their minor symptoms, are
thus not counted as illnesses. Consequently, I did not completely negate them in
my thoughts. Of course, the end goal of cultivation practice is not to become a person
with a perfect body. However, Falun Dafa is a practice that cultivates both mind
and body. Imagine that a person with smelly underarms, runny nose, and who
constantly coughs up phlegm, goes out to clarify the truth; it could turn people
off. Even though I do pay attention to my hygiene, it does not fundamentally
solve this problem. Instead, it only alleviates or reduces the symptoms. I think
the old forces have made careful arrangements for Falun Dafa practitioners.
Their interfering elements exist in something as small as our single thought or
action or some minor condition in our bodies. As the Fa-rectification progresses to the final stage, Teacher and Dafa have
even higher requirements for me. We must watch our every thought and action, no
matter how insignificant they may seem. For instance, buying special shampoo for
dandruff "treatment" and other things of this nature, these can all
become attachments. As practitioners we should live our lives in a dignified and
righteous manner, and we should choose products freely, without being attached
to them. I hope practitioners who have similar attachments to me watch their every
thought and action, and measure them with the Fa to see if they are right or
wrong, and whether they should exist or not. I don't know if my understanding is correct. Fellow practitioners please
kindly correct me. |
