By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Northeast China

After release from a detention center, my husband brought me south to live near where he was working. I used my time well to study the Fa, practice the exercises ,and send righteous thoughts at the appointed times, day or night. Sometimes I listened to Teacher's nine lectures all in one day. I was strict about conducting myself according to the standards of a practitioner to uphold Dafa's image. The employees and customers of my husband's company are quite varied and come from all around the country. Anyone I came in contact with was the recipient of my truth-clarification. My husband's colleagues all remarked that I was a good wife who practiced Falun Gong. Even the company manager shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!"

During the period when "SARS" began to appear in the community, people often heard about which places were infected with the illness and in which villages people had died. This kind of news was unceasing. Vinegar was sold out, and everybody felt threatened. I knew the old forces were eliminating people, and I watched as they stood on the edge of peril. I had a heart of infinite mercy and fully realized the urgency of saving people. We were "grabbing people from the tiger's mouth" of the old forces.

I had no contact with fellow practitioners and thus no environment for sharing understandings and cultivation experiences. I felt uncomfortable and thought about returning to my hometown in 2003. Around that time two homeless practitioners, Hong Wei and her husband, Da Yu (not their real names), went to City A, so I went to see them. The coordinator of City A had died recently as a result of torture, and fellow practitioners were all depressed about this. Few practitioners were available to make truth-clarification materials. I took the initiative to do this since Hong Wei, Da Yu, Xiao Wang (an alias), and I were beginning Fa-rectification work in City A.

During a big raid, three practitioners died from torture, and we moved our truth-clarification materials production site to a neighboring county. We transported our materials by train. One day I carried a big box of Teacher's lectures on cassette as I passed through the inspection port of the train station. It seemed that people around me were staring at my box, and I was very nervous. Right then, a group of small merchants with many parcels and boxes came up behind me, laughing and chatting as they walked towards me. I suddenly remembered that Teacher said in "Environment" in Essentials for Further Advancement:

"Think about it: Even people's claim that they have evolved from apes is able to be highly regarded. Yet with this great Dafa of the universe, you are embarrassed to give it a correct position--this is human beings' true shame."

I felt ashamed. I was doing the most sacred thing in the universe, so why should I be afraid? I held my head up and walked right by these people without fear. From then on, whenever I take or deliver Dafa truth-clarification materials, I am very confident.

Study the Fa and it is guaranteed that Fa-rectification work will be done well and we will be able to assist Teacher in the Fa-rectification process as one body. We read Teacher's new articles several times, and often went to every village and town to share with other practitioners. Practitioners did not slack off, and every village and town established a Fa study group and materials production site. Some practitioners rejoined the practice and new practitioners increased in number. Meanwhile, we did not forget surrounding areas and supported the weaker areas in setting up Dafa materials production sites.

I lived in City A, far away from home, so my daughter stayed with her grandparents. Grandmother was paralyzed and confined to bed and Great-Grandmother was over 80 years old. Four generations lived together. Grandfather was nearly 70 years old and gave me a great deal of support. That year, first Grandmother and then Great-Grandmother passed away, and Grandfather was unable to look after my daughter by himself. He asked me to take my daughter to live with me. The biggest difficulty was financial, as my child needed to go to school and I had no money to pay her school fees. I had invested my entire body and mind in Fa-rectification work for several years and did not have an income. However, I did not regard this as a problem, because I knew Teacher would arrange everything.

I went to my hometown to pick up my daughter and to investigate what was going on with my previous employer. The company had gone bankrupt a few years ago and was now managed by the Unemployment Bureau. Everyone was receiving around 200 yuan as a "minimum living allowance" each month, which had to be picked up from the Unemployment Bureau in person every month. If the money was not claimed when indicated, it would be forfeited. My ID and "off-duty certificate" for receiving wages had been confiscated by the police bureau during my second arrest, so I could not pick up any wages. However, unexpectedly, with only a certificate from my previous employer, the Unemployment Bureau paid me two years of back pay for "minimum living allowance." My former colleagues could not believe it! So many people with connections could not even collect their back pay!

Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference" in Guiding the Voyage: "Just do everything a Dafa disciple should do, and everything will be covered."

Teacher also said: "As long as you do what Dafa disciples should do, everything can be resolved." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference")

I also want to mention that, before I practiced Falun Gong, I was very attached to my daughter's school grades. When I let go of everything and went to Beijing to validate the Fa, I came back to find that her grades had improved, and, not only that, she had begun to study the Fa. Now my daughter is among the top students in her class. In addition, my husband has avoided harm in dangerous situations on two occasions. While validating the Fa, I have received Teacher's help in very difficult situations on so many occasions that they are too numerous to list.

Teacher says in Zhuan Falun:

"You are unable to interfere with the lives of others, and neither can you control others' fates, including those of your wife, sons, daughters, parents, or brothers. Can you decide those things?"

"These things are arranged by the master and performed by the master. Therefore, it is said that cultivation depends on one's own efforts, while transforming gong is done by one's master. You can only have such a wish and think about it like that, but it is the master who actually does these things."

Da Yu was the main coordinator in the area, but many fellow practitioners were not willing to cooperate with him, and so they avoided him. They were only able to see his shortcomings. I always cooperated with Da Yu, not because we were from the same place, but for the sake of the Fa and for the cultivation environment in our area. There were times when I could not endure his temper, and he sometimes did not appear to act like a practitioner at all. However, I knew he played a remarkable role in validating the Fa. The old forces regard personal cultivation as most important, however, Teacher looks at sentient beings' attitude towards Fa-rectification.

Teacher said:

"Everything is just too trivial to even mention next to the Fa-rectification--nothing begins to compare. You can't compare things that occur in personal cultivation with the Fa-rectification." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.")

It is the responsibility of each practitioner to improve his or her cultivation state. Even if we are only a witness to a conflict, we must still look for our own attachments in this situation, as we also have our own things to improve and abandon. Moreover, we can't avoid conflict, as this is the form our cultivation takes.

The harder it is, the more we need to get rid of attachments and not allow the old forces to separate our one-body. As a matter of fact, such conflict commonly exists in many areas. This kind of phenomenon is mostly caused by jealousy, the attachments of fame and self interest, and regarding doing the work as more important than cultivating ourselves. In validating the Fa, there is no high or low position, only high or low xinxing. If we regard all Dafa work as equally important, that will make a difference. If we have a bit more tolerance and compassion, then everything can be solved. Didn't Teacher tell us:

"Compassion can harmonize Heaven and Earth, ushering in spring;
Righteous thoughts can save the people in this world" ("The Fa Rectifies the Cosmos" from Hong Yin II)

Cooperating with each other as a whole is the Dafa practitioner's special cultivation way. Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students:"

"Whenever I see you do well, and, in particular, whenever you cooperate with each other as a whole and have a great impact, the multitude of gods praise you."b. Promoting NTDTV with a Pure Heart and a Desire to Save People

There are few practitioners living in the countryside, but saving people is urgent, and so I had the thought of helping people gain access to NTDTV so they could hear the truth on television. If every village installed several antennas to receive NTDTV, what an impact this would have! Many people could be saved.

At that time, we had not heard of anyone being able to get NTDTV signals in our province, so we did not know whether we could receive it or not. Practitioners in other areas agreed to tell us if they became successful in getting the NTDTV signal. Practitioners in a neighboring province were testing out various techniques and equipment and were successful in getting a broadcast signal. Several practitioners and I went by train to the neighboring province to learn these techniques. I brought back ten satellite dishes because the neighboring province was so far away and we needed to continue our testing. I had only one thought: "It will work, it must work."

In the winter of 2006, there was an extraordinarily big snow storm in the northeast. The snow was knee deep, the wind howled, and very few people were out on the street. Another practitioner and I took a large dish by tricycle and went to a relative's home in the country to test it. After a while, we were able to tune in to an NTDTV program, although the signal quality was only 17 to 18 percent. The image was clear and we could record the program. We were indescribably happy!

After we learned how to connect to NTDTV, the next step was promotion. Everything is difficult at first, and in the process of promotion, many practitioners acted like observers, just waiting in anticipation. They failed to look at NTDTV from the perspective of the Fa and from the angle of saving people. Teacher told us:

"The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston")

In the process of installing satellite dishes for NTDTV, I got rid of many human attachments. Once, after installing a dish for a fellow practitioner, she decided that the location was not right. I spent the whole day trying to install the dish, changing the position eight times. It was a very hot day, and, in the end, she decided not to install it at all, so I then had to take the dish back. In order to promote NTDTV, the services were all voluntary and the dish was offered to practitioners at cost. I used my own savings for travel expenses. Only a few practitioners gave their support. I took the dish back by taxi. After several days, she'd changed her mind and wanted it installed after all. I returned to her place once again.

During the process of installing satellite dishes, there were pains and joys as my xinxing was tested and refined. I firmly kept in mind what Teacher said in "Fa Teaching at the 2007 New York Fa Conference:"

"I knew what I was doing, and I knew the beginning and the end of this affair, and that was plenty! (Applause) So as for this process in the middle, I completely disregard all of the myriad changes that occur, whatever they may be."

If practitioners have strong and pure righteous thoughts, even if only one non-practitioner watches NTDTV, the installation is not wasted. In a town in the City of B, there is one such person. No matter how many times practitioners clarified the truth to him and asked him to quit the CCP, he refused to quit. However, after he watched NTDTV at a practitioner's home, he asked that practitioners help him quit the CCP.

The installation process has provided me with a clearer understanding of the Fa principles behind promoting NTDTV. The stronger my righteous thoughts are, the smaller the resistance is.

I know I am still far away from Teacher's requirements in cultivation, especially with regard to individual cultivation, but I will make a big effort to catch up on the path to godhood.
