Former Taiwanese President Signs Petition to Support Human Rights Torch Relay (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On December 15, the Taiwan United Federation hosted a charity auction event at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial. The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) was invited to participate. The group presented a "Human Rights Torch" booth to collect signature support for the Human Rights Torch Relay and run a charity auction of the relay's T-shirt.

Former Taiwanese president Lee Teng-hui

Former Taiwanese president Lee Teng-hui came to the auction and visited every booth. When he stopped at the Human Rights Torch booth, a member of the CIPFG told the former president that the aim of the Human Rights Torch Relay is to urge the international community to take action to end the persecution of Falun Gong, as well as other human rights atrocities in China.
