Tortures Currently Taking Place at the No. 5 Division of Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Officials at the No. 5 Division of the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province pretend to promote a so-called "division in harmony," while actually escalating the persecution against practitioners. Wang Kai (male), who superseded Zhao Shuang (male) as the division head, has ordered arbitrary body searches. He has also instigated other inmates to give practitioners a hard time and ordered labor camp guards to torture practitioners with electric-shock batons.

On June 24, 2007, Wang Kai, head of the No. 5 Division, tortured practitioner Mr. Liu Jingzhou with an electric baton, locked practitioner Mr. Gong Wenyi in a small cell (1) and tied him to an iron chair, and tortured practitioner Mr. Lang Xianguo with an electric baton while he was chained to an iron chair. Wang Kai, Yang Yu (male), the political instructor, and Qiang Shengguo (male), deputy division head, all engaged in torturing Mr. Lang Xianguo with electric batons for over an hour.

Mr. Lang Xianguo and other practitioners shouted "Falun Dafa is great." The labor camp guards then covered Mr. Lang's mouth with tape and continued to shock him with a baton. Other practitioners tried to get into the office to protect Mr. Lang, and Wang Kai ordered guards to stop them. Lu Xuemin (male), one of the guards, threatened to torture these practitioners saying, "You'll be next!"

At noon on the same day, the practitioners went on hunger strike. Four practitioners, Mr. Liu Zhanhai, Mr. Jiang Weigen, Mr. Gu Qingsong, and Mr. Zhao Hongxing, were beaten by guards with two or three electric batons for over twenty minutes. Mr. Liu Zhanhai was chained to an iron chair with his mouth taped. The guards beat him so hard with electric batons that they knocked him over along with the heavy chair.

That night, Mr. Han Weiguo shouted "Falun Dafa is great" and "Stop the persecution." For this he was tied to an iron chair for two days. Mr. Gong Wenyi was bound to an iron chair for the fourteen days that he was on hunger strike.

On October 8, Wang Kai was on duty. He had lost his wallet the previous day and vented his anger at practitioners and other inmates. He spent the day finding faults with practitioners and cursing and yelling at other inmates. He also tried to instigate hatred among the inmates toward practitioners and ordered them to monitor practitioners and constantly follow them.

Mr. Lang Xianguo has been on hunger strike since October 29, 2007. He was tied up on an iron chair for two weeks. The third day into his hunger strike, the persecutors force-fed him with a tube inserted through his nose, going into his stomach. According to inmates who were assigned to monitor him, Mr. Lang has been bleeding through his nose. Mr. Lang remains on hunger strike.

Note:

(1) Small cell - The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners behind their backs in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move around nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night the rats scurry about the cell. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
