(Clearwisdom.net) Watching Master's "Teaching the Fa to Australian Falun Dafa Practitioners" made me gain a more clear perspective on the issue of spies.
When I was abroad, some practitioners suspected I was a spy. After I returned to China, police unconstitutionally detained me. National Security agents tried to force me to cooperate with them. I strongly denied their demand. Later on, some practitioners suspected another practitioner to be a spy. I also dared not to easily trust anyone I did not know well. This created certain difficulties for coordinating with others. After I encountered several conflicts, I began to gain a deeper understanding of Master's lectures on this issue. I could feel the boundless compassion in Master's words and Dafa's unlimited, mighty virtue. I also realized the reason for Master repeatedly addressing this topic from different angles. Master's understanding and caring about every practitioner deeply touched me.
I am taking a hard look at myself, recalling my own cultivation experiences. I am examining how each and every conflict I encountered affected my thoughts. I had previously always looked outward for others' problems, and looked for reasons from the outside. After I became reasonable and examined my own issues, I found that my own actions during a certain time were a reason for people to feel suspicious about me being a spy. I did then not have a good understanding of the Fa. I neglected to look for my fundamental attachments, let alone eliminating them. My most obvious notion was my habit to show off. I always wanted to validate myself and demonstrate my capabilities. During conflicts I could not control my emotions and often went to extremes. I was overconfident. No wonder other practitioners did not feel right about me. Now I find those behaviors ridiculous. These kinds of things could not have been further away from a practitioner's standards. How could I blame fellow practitioners for their distrust? The real reason for the misunderstanding is due to my human attachments. The old forces took advantage of my loopholes. I also did not completely relinquish my lust and sexual desire and made some mistakes in this regard. My own problems later became the root cause for my tribulations and persecution by the evil forces. Had I stayed determined to look for my own problems at the time, things would have turned out completely differently.
Spies are afraid of Dafa practitioners. Even during my tribulation, when the National Security spies attempted to force me to work with them, I refused and exposed their crimes. The spies did not dare to say anything. The powerful energy emitted from Dafa controls everything. We can fend off any persecution as long as we assimilate ourselves to Dafa and become an element of Dafa.
We should treat the spy issue rationally. Indeed, the communist regime sent spies to sabotage Dafa and persecute practitioners in China and abroad. Safeguarding Dafa is our responsibility. From this standpoint we must stay alert and refuse the agents any chance to damage Dafa. This prevents these people from committing severe crimes and bringing karma upon themselves, and makes us compassionately deal with the spies. More importantly, we must believe in Dafa and cultivate ourselves well. Dafa can turn every negative situation into a positive one. Our strong righteous thoughts can resolve all evil interference. Our righteous thoughts determine everything in human society. We offer sentient beings salvation with honor and dignity. We are not seeking passive peace during our effort to end the persecution. Our compassion, our cooperation, our cultivation of speech, our every thought, our words and action, if pure and without selfish pursuit, can defeat all evil attacks. We should try hard to cultivate our minds, not to second-guess each other, because doing that falls into the trap the old forces set. They take advantage of our attachments and create friction and divisions amongst practitioners, and sabotage our efforts to save people. We should offer all people salvation, including spies. That is the manifestation of Dafa's mighty virtue. This is only possible with our strongest righteous thoughts and compassion.
Master addresses this issue to all of us. We should pay enough attention to this, and look for our own omission from all angles. We should cultivate ourselves, form a unity of practitioners, continue to explain the truth and offer sentient beings salvation.
