Fourteen policemen headed by Zhalantun City Police Department deputy chief Ding Shaowei arrested more than 30 practitioners on March 27, 2006. Some of those arrested practitioners have been sentenced to forced labor, and some are going to be sentenced. Those already sentenced are Ms. Zhang Fenglan, to three years of forced labor; Mr. Eryuan, two years; and Ms. Meng Huiling, two and a half years.

Practitioner Ms. Zhao Shuyun from Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia AR, 50 years old, was an employee of an Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. She started to practice Falun Gong in 1997. Someone reported her in 2001 as she distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials at Daode Township, Kailu County. She was then held at the county detention center for more than 100 days. During the detention, personnel from the Ke'erqin Police Station interrogated her and beat her back with a wooden stick. Later on the officials sentenced her to three years of forced labor, to be served at the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp. She was brutally tortured there for three years.

She was reading one of Master's writings in the summer of 2002 when camp guard Su Hongyu discovered her and ordered her to turn in the writing. Ms. Zhao refused, and the guards then tried to take it. Ms. Zhao swallowed the paper in order to not let police get it. Guard Su Hongyu was utterly frustrated. She dragged Ms. Zhao to a small compartment and beat her for two hours. Ms. Zhao was bruised all over. Her face was swollen and she could not open her eyes. Nevertheless, Ms. Zhao was still made to do some heavy work. Another time policewoman Zhou Liping beat her in a duty office because she would not shout the camp slogans designed for criminals.

She was held at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp because of her determination to clarify the truth of Falun Gong to public. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Practitioner Ms. Li Zhaoxia, in her 50s, and Ms. Yang from Zhaoyuan City were arrested when they were persuading people to renounce the Communist Party and its affiliated organization in Biguo Town, Zhaoyuan City. Ms. Yang was released with the power of righteous thoughts after being held for two days. Ms. Li has been transferred to the city brainwashing center.

Practitioners Ms. Tang Rongfang and Ms. Huang Shaoxia from the Chikan District were arrested on January 8, 2007 while they clarified the truth of Falun Gong to people in the district. They are now being held at the Mazhang District Detention Center in Zhanjiang City.

Practitioners Ms. Zhang Fengying and Ms. Xian Sushuang from the Fengnan District went to Tangfang Town in the Fengnan District to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials at 4:00 p.m. on January 14, 2007. Someone who didn't know the truth of Falun Gong reported them to police. As a result, personnel from the Tangfang Town Police Station arrested them. The two practitioners were later sent to the Fengnan District National Security Team and were transferred to Fengnan District Detention Center that same night.

In addition, practitioners Mr. Dong Quanhao and a female practitioner surnamed Hao were arrested around the Tangfang Town area. Dong Quanhao was severely tortured and mentally tormented. He died on January 4, 2007.

Personnel from the Yongqing Street Police Station, Jiang'an District arrested practitioners Ms. Ding Genmei, Ms. Han Mingying and Xiao Rong who live around the Jiefang Park from their homes and sent them to the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Class on January 15, 2007.

Practitioner Mr. Sun Hongchang is being held at the Dashagou Detention Center. The police beat him so badly on his legs that he has to push his arms against the wall in order to walk.

Officer Gao Jizhao from the Fengyi Police Station, Shiliang Town has been incessantly harassing practitioners. A practitioner chose to leave home and live in exile to avoid illegal arrest.

Policeman Li Fengrong and other personnel arrested practitioner Mr. Yu Jun from Hongtoushan Town, Qingyuan County, Fushun City, at 5:00 p.m. on November 9, 2006. Mr. Yu is now being held at the Fushun County No. 1 Detention Center.

Yu Jun faces sentencing soon. The sentence date was scheduled for January 17, 2007, but his family was informed that it will be around January 20. His wife is forbidden to attend the court hearing.

11. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Chunhui, a Practitioner Couple's Daughter, Arrested

Personnel from the Suihua City 610 Office arrested practitioner Ms. Zhang Chunhui from Suihua City. She is the daughter of practitioners Mr. Zhang Xingguo and Ms. Zhang Shuqing. She went to the Pharmacology Inspection Institute to pick up her father's salary at 9:00 a.m. on January 15, 2007, and was arrested. The authorities held her at the city police department to find her parent's whereabouts, which was why they arrested her.

Practitioners Ms. Lei Yinzhi, Ms. Zhang Shifang, and Mr. Xiong Zaoyun were held at Dongxi Lake for ten days, followed by their present incarceration in the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in the Yujiatou District, Wuhan City.

16. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Qu Shuai Held at the City's Police Department Hospital For Three Months

Practitioner Mr. Qu Shuai from Changchun City, in his 30s, has been held at the Changchun City Police Department Hospital for three months. According to Qu Shuai, Jilin Province's 610 Office head beat Mr. Qu and he sustained a brain injury. He couldn't concentrate and could not stand up straight. He is currently bedridden.

Mr. Qu was arrested because his neighbor reported him to the police.

17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Wei Tortured; Released after Extortion Money Pai

Personnel from the Ziyoudalu Street Police Station arrested 38-year-old practitioner Mr. Li Wei from Changchun City on December 8, 2006. Mr. Li has been on a hunger strike during his detention to protest the persecution, but he was sent to the city's police hospital for force-feeding. The force-feeding tube was left in Mr. Li's stomach for several days, which caused much pain.

Later on Mr. Li life was in peril. Police chief Song Kui and a policeman surnamed Wei informed Li Wei's wife to pay 10,000 yuan for Mr. Li's release. Finally, his wife paid 5,000 yuan and Mr. Li was released early in the morning on January 14, 2007.

18. [Chongqing] Practitioner Mr. Xu Yingpei Arrested

Policeman Ou Lichang from the National Security Division arrested practitioner Mr. Xu Yingpei from the Shapingba District on January 6, 2007, when Mr. Xu was walking with his wife. Mr. Xu was then secretly sent to the Wangxiangtai Holiday Resort in the Yuci District, Chongqing.

19. [Guangdong Province] Practitioner Mr. Wen Huasheng Arrested Several Days Ago

Practitioner Mr. Wen Huasheng, temporarily working in Shenzhen City, was arrested several days ago. He rented a home on his own and had not been seen for many days. Someone was looking for him but couldn't find him. The person inquired about Mr. Wen's whereabouts everywhere and eventually learned that he had been arrested back on December 30, 2006.

20. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Mr. He Kaihua Arrested

Shehong County National Security Division chief Zhou Yuan and a few policemen arrested practitioner Mr. He Kaihua at his workplace, the county library, at 5:00 p.m. on January 12, 2007. They ransacked his office and his home afterwards and confiscated some CDs and Dafa materials. Mr. He Kaihua is presently being held at the county's detention center.

22. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Including Ms. Chen Mei Arrested

Practitioner Ms. Chen Mei from Dalian City, 35 years old, had chosen to live in exile, but police arrested her on January 9, 2007.

Practitioners Ms. Jiang Hongmei and her brother, Mr. Jiang Xiaoming, were arrested on January 13, 2007. Jiang Hongmei was taken away at 10:00 p.m.

Practitioner Mr. Jiang Bin was arrested the morning of January 13, 2007.

24. [Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Xia Guangli Sent to a Forced Labor Camp

Someone reported practitioner Ms. Xia Guangli from Huinan County, Jilin Province, when she clarifying the truth at Tuanlinzi Village the evening on November 11 or 12, 2006. Police arrested her and sentenced her to one and a half years of forced labor. The police put her into Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp but didn't notify her family.

Three policemen arrested practitioner Ms. Zhong Defang, 55 years old, from the Xigao District, Guanghan City. It happened as she was clarifying the truth of Falun Gong at the Gaoping Market at 10:00 a.m. on January 15, 2007.

27. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information about Practitioner Mr. Cai Rong's Arrest

Practitioner Mr. Cai Rong was arrested when he went to deceased practitioner Mr. Liang Weiqi's home the evening of January 10, 2007. Mr. Liang's daughter, Ms. Bi Guiying, was arrested at the same time. They are now being held at a detention center.

28. [Shanghai] Complementary Information Regarding the Arrest of Practitioner Ms. Li Qun

Practitioner Ms. Li Qun, an employee of the Guiyang Electricity Factory in Guizhou Province, went to visit her daughter in Shanghai's Pudong District on December 22, 2006. She also visited her father on December 27. On her way back to her daughter's home police followed her and arrested her when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials. She is now being held at the Shanghai Changning District Detention Center. No family visits hvave been permitted.

Practitioner Ms. Li Guimei from Guiyang City, 32 years old, first went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong the end of 2001, but was arrested and has been held at the Guizhou Province Women's Forced Labor Camp for three years. Ms. Li was released at the end of 2004 but was arrested again the end of 2006.

Mr. Sun Shiwei was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment in 2006 and held in Mudanjiang Prison. He was subsequently transferred to Jiamusi Prison in Heilongjiang Province. To protest the persecution Mr. Sun has been on a hunger strike for nine days, and the guards force-feed him every day.

Policemen arrested practitioner Ms. Mo Shaomei from her shop the afternoon of December 24, 2006. She has so far been held at the Zengcheng Detention Center, 24 days already. No family visit has been permitted. She is presently facing illegal trial.
