By a Practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) The phone rang at 6:30 a.m. and my husband, a non-practitioner, picked it up. He said his old classmate (a Bureau Director) happened to be on a business trip here and he was coming to visit us. He invited my husband and me for a cup of tea. "Sure. Let's go together," I replied. In my mind, I said to myself, "It's a chance to save people."

Since I didn't know him, I asked my husband what his name was. While my husband was getting ready for the meeting, I sat down, cross-legged, in front of Teacher's portrait and sent forth righteous thoughts, "Eliminate the communist evil elements in so and so's mind. I must make him recognize the evil nature of the communist party and quit the CCP. I must save his life. Master, please strengthen me." As if my husband knew what I was thinking, he murmured to me, "Don't talk about side topics. His whole family are communist party officials. They won't accept your truth-clarification." "Don't worry. I know what I should or should not say," I replied with a smile.

It turned out that the bureau director was very friendly and talkative. There were only three of us in the hotel room. To be polite to him, I quietly listened to him as he was talking. This was also to figure out how to start my conversation. When he talked about how in the past few years he helped his old classmates who were in hardships and how he never did any bad deeds in his job of Planned Birth Control campaign, I said, "Since you're compassionate and warmhearted to people, your family must be a happy one. As the saying goes, one good turn deserves another." "You're surely right. My son is also warmhearted and excellent. My wife used to have heart pain and it used to hurt her very often, but as she often prays to Buddha and chants Buddhist scripture, she became healthy again," he said. I quickly continued the topic, "Of course, once a person believes in Buddha, he becomes good-hearted, and he will surely think of other people first and will not fight for fame or gain. His mind naturally becomes peaceful and tranquil, his inner Qi flows more freely, his Yin-Yang becomes more balanced, and his health improves as a result." "Sounds like you also go to temple very often?" he asked. "I practice Falun Dafa," I answered. Surprised and unhappy, he became silent.

Then I recollected Master's teaching,

"If when you clarify the truth you talk about things at a level that's just a little too high, let me tell you, you will no longer be saving sentient beings but instead pushing them down." (Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005)

I started to talk about how Falun Dafa taught me to become a good person based on the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and how I became a healthy person again after the practice. "Yes. I personally witnessed how her decade-long illnesses, such as skin disease, gastrointestinal disease, and constipation, disappeared after she practiced Falun Gong," said my husband, as he helped to clarify the truth. "Really?" he was unconvinced but started to be curious. "Of course it's true. Otherwise how come so many people are practicing it? The daughter of a friend of mine used to suffer brain tumor at the age of five, which caused unbearable headaches to her. Her doctor recommended a brain surgery, but she could not afford it and was also concerned about the potential risks. In despair, they found someone who practiced Falun Gong, and both her and her mother started to practice Falun Gong. The daughter was quickly relieved from headaches, and both the mother and daughter quickly became healthy. The whole family was excited at the rapid progress and celebrated that they were fortunate enough to find the treasure of Falun Dafa. Since July 20, 1999, however, the CCP has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners and prohibited anyone from practicing Falun Gong in parks. Since the practice site was destroyed, the girl cried on her balcony for nights, failing to understand why such a good practice was banned and people were prohibited from doing good things. Later, no matter how terribly the authorities distorted the facts and slandered Falun Gong and how harshly they persecuted practitioners, both the mother and daughter were determined to practice it. Now the girl is in a middle school and has become a beautiful and healthy teenage girl. Many Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, only to tell the government that Falun Gong teaches people to be good citizens and makes them healthy. They asked the government to grant them the basic rights to do the Falun Gong exercises. Practicing Falun Gong has nothing to do with politics," I explained to him. He kept nodding his head.

As Teacher taught us,

"Right now when you clarify the truth you only need to talk about the persecution of Dafa disciples, how the evil party has been violating the human rights and the freedom of belief of the Chinese people, how historically the evil party has persecuted the Chinese people and the people of the countries belonging to the wicked Communist bloc, and how it is persecuting Dafa disciples today in the same way. And that's enough." ("Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005")

Constantly memorizing Master's teachings, I naturally talked about the various rampant campaigns the CCP launched in its history to persecute good people. Speaking of the so-called "Anti-Rightist Struggle," I said, "the so-called rightists were all the elite of the country and the conscience of the society, but they were arbitrarily labeled as 'Anti-Revolutionary,' and were persecuted at will. In the so-called 'Cultural Revolution,' good-hearted and capable people were persecuted to death or purged. Patriotic students were killed during the June 4 democratic movement (Editor's Note: known in the west as the Tiananmen Square Massacre). What was wrong with them? Today, Falun Gong practitioners just want to be good people and to have good health. This is the basic right of freedom of belief. Yet the CCP staged the Tiananmen Square self-immolation to smear Falun Gong and to find excuses to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. With the CCP busy in persecuting good people in the past decades, how could China become a great country? How could our children and grandchildren possibly have a bright future?" Nodding his head, he gave his consent, "You're surely right."

Pondering a little bit, he questioned, "In your opinion, who is Li Hongzhi? How could he found the practice of Falun Gong? Why does the CCP want to harm him?" Calmly, I replied, "While Yue Fei was such a loyal officer in the history, why did the Emperor of Song still want to kill him? Why couldn't he save the Great Song Dynasty? That was because the gods wanted to annihilate the Song Dynasty. As the saying goes, 'it's easier to move a mountain than to defeat the Yue Fei troops.' Yue Fei was certainly not an ordinary person. Our Teacher, Li Hongzhi, has been spreading Falun Gong and helped over one hundred million people to elevate their morality and improve their health. Now he has spread it to over eighty countries. Many of these governments are grateful to Him and Falun Dafa for bringing peace and health to their people. The number of proclamations they issued to Falun Dafa and its founder reached as many as a thousand. What kind of person do you think my Teacher is then? Around the world, no government but the CCP persecutes Falun Gong. Because of the persecution, it has become China's biggest human rights issue. In addition, the brutality of the persecution (the organ harvesting from live practitioners) has surpassed the cruelest and most rampant crimes in the world's history. Since the CCP committed tremendous crimes against the Chinese people and gods, how could gods possibly forgive it without annihilating it? It's heaven's will to change the dynasty!" "Sure. All the Chinese people know that it is time to end the rule of the CCP," he agreed.

"That's why the Epoch Times newspaper has set up a website to give people a chance to quit the CCP and to declare their resignations. From the central government to the army and to various cities, there have been over 18 million people who have resigned from the CCP and its subordinate organizations. Quitting the CCP is to declare one's separation from the evil elements of the CCP. It is a choice for morality and innocence. People who are conscientious will have a bright future. For the safety of each individual who declares the resignations from CCP, Epoch Times accepts declarations with alias names. My dear bureau director, please quit the evil party with an alias. It can bring you peace if you do so," I continued. Nodding his head again, he said, "You're right. My last name is Tang. Just call me Peaceful Tang." I was delighted that another life was saved. Mr. Tang continued, "Can you help my son, my wife, and my mother to quit the CCP as well? They are all CCP members." I told him it would be fine only if they agreed to the resignations themselves. "I'll talk to them, but I'm sure they will agree with me," he said confidently. Then he made a few aliases for them and asked me to memorize them in order to declare the resignations for them later. A few moments later, he asked me again, "Do you still remember all the four nick names?" I recited all the names to him and said, "Since this is imperatively important and it is related to the goodness and the future of your lives, I surely will not forget." He smiled. Before he left, I gave him a Falun emblem and truth-clarification materials. He was very happy to have them and carefully put them in his pocket.

From this experience, I understand that as long as we follow Master's teachings and steadfastly believe in the power of righteous thoughts, we will surely be able to save those who have predestined relationship with the Fa.
