(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Benyong from Longquanyi in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, was illegally imprisoned for five years and persecuted. On the day of his release from prison, 610 Office personnel took him to a brainwashing center in Chengdu City. Zhao Benyong's family members went to the relevant authorities to ask for his release, but to no avail. In the process, his mother and younger brother were illegally detained at Bazhong Police Department of Sichuan Province.

During the five years Zhao Benyong was persecuted in Wumaping Prison, he persisted in his faith in Falun Dafa. On January 31, 2007, his term ended. On February 1, 2007, the prison informed the 610 Office of Longquanyi, the street committee, and Beigandao Police Station. This whole gang of people planned to secretly fetch Mr. Zhao from the prison. Luckily, his family members arrived in time and demanded his release. The authorities then sent him and his family members back to the street committee, saying that the committee would release Zhao Benyong. However, when they reached the street committee, the district Politics and Law Committee secretary, the manager, and a gang of hatchet men forcibly separated Zhao Benyong from his family and took him to the Chengdu City Brainwashing Center. They forbid him from seeing his family members, and they refused to tell his family members his whereabouts.

On the morning of February 5, Zhao Benyong's family members went again to the district government to demand his release. However, the police detained his mother and one younger brother. In the afternoon another younger brother was also taken away.

On February 6, his family members were released. There was news that Zhao Benyong was holding a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Zhao Benyong graduated from Xinan University. His health was poor, so he started to cultivate Falun Dafa in 1994 and attained good health as a result. He thus persisted in his cultivation. However, after July 20, 1999, he was persecuted both financially and psychologically by the Aerospace Technical School affiliated with his university. In May 2001 he was forced to leave the school and live a homeless life to avoid being persecuted. The university ganged up with the authorities to remove his name from the school. On February 1, 2002, he was arrested by Shuangqiao Police Station in the Chenghua District. He was then sentenced to five years by the Chenghua District Court and sent to Wumaping Prison in Leshan City. All this was done without informing his family members. In prison he went on a hunger strike for as long as three months to protest the persecution. Sometimes he was locked up in a solitary cell, punished by being forced to sit or stand in the severe cold weather, and subjected to other forms of persecution.
