Now I Understand the Truth About Falun Gong
(Clearwisdom.net) At the time when Falun Gong was being persecuted very badly, someone handed my mother a copy of the book Zhuan Falun. My family members and I were against my mother reading the book; however my mother insisted on practicing Falun Gong. As her daughter I could not change her mind but was quite fearful as the days passed. I even had the idea that one day she would enter my room as a mad woman brandishing a meat cleaver, yelling a series of screams and staining the white walls with blood (Editor's Note: this is a typical portrayal of Falun Gong practitioners in the vast state-controlled-media propaganda machine of the CCP ).
The days passed. My mother started to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to me. She told me that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had staged the self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square to further justify its persecution of Falun Gong. My mother also frequently gave me truth-clarifying materials to read. I did not believe what I read. I thought since the CCP can play fraud, then the truth clarifying materials might not be true, either. Anyway, nobody knows for sure. But my mother said, "I am now a Falun Dafa practitioner. I have to hold myself to high requirements. I must assimilate to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." I must say truthful things, do things that are true, have a kind heart and have self control, and be tolerant and not easily have conflicts with people."
I gradually started to develop an interest in Falun Gong. I wondered why people could not stop reading this book. What exactly is it? Why is it that some people hate it? With curiosity and some fear, I opened the book Zhuan Falun. After reading a few pages, my fears disappeared.
The book says, "In the process of cultivating, we’re practitioners, so we need to give up so many attachments, like showing off, jealousy, competitiveness, being overjoyed—a whole lot of attachments have to be totally eliminated. The loss we’re talking about is broader. Throughout the whole course of cultivation we should lose all those attachments and different desires that ordinary people have." ("The Fourth Talk" in Zhuan Falun, 2003 translation version) It also says, "We have a strict rule for practitioners: practitioners can’t kill. Whether it’s the Buddhist system, the Daoist system, or the Qimen practices, it doesn’t matter which discipline or which school it is, true cultivation disciplines are absolute about this: no killing. There’s no two ways about it." ("The Seventh Talk" in Zhuan Falun) This book teaches people to ascend towards kindness and goodness. It could only raise a person's morality. How could it be harmful to others and oneself? Why are we not allowed to read such a good book? Why are we prevented from learning to be good people? Why are kind-hearted Falun Dafa practitioners locked up in prison and tortured and persecuted? Why have many of them even lost their lives? The CCP is really evil!
Now that I understand the truth about Falun Gong, I also know that in many areas all over the country there is a trend of renouncing one's CCP membership. I hope that more and more people understand the truth about Falun Gong and learn about the persecution of Falun Gong. I hope that they also will renounce their CCP membership and choose a bright future for themselves.
