I Practice Dafa and Clarify the Truth During the Rampant Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) I began practicing Falun Gong during the rampant persecution initiated by the Jiang and Luo political regime on July 20, 1999. Before I share some of my experiences, first of all I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our great Teacher!

At the age of 17, I joined the so called "revolutionary work" under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I performed my work without regard for the time of day or night, whether winter cold or summer heat, I worked day and night. I was part of all political activities launched by the evil party.

When the CCP started the Big Leap Movement and the People's Communes, I visited a party member's experimental farm, which claimed to have an output as high as "75,000 kilograms per hectare." I calculated 75,000 kilograms would yield a pile of big buckets as high as five layers deep from one mu (one Chinese mu is equal to 1/15 of a hectare) of farm land. Because I voiced my calculations, I was said to oppose the Big Leap Movement, oppose the people's commune, be above oneself at work, and was attacking workers and peasant cadres. I was categorized as a "right deviation opportunist" who was against the Communist Party and the people. I was removed from government service and sentenced to three years of forced labor. My family and two children, both under 5 years old, were also sent to a forestry center to work and "reform." While my wife was hospitalized, the children had no one to care for them and died of starvation. Countless families became victim to such tragedies in China!

As a result of the CCP's evil corruption, Chinese traditional culture was completely destroyed, and as a result, people lost their sense of morality and conscience. After I retired, I did not read papers, watch TV, pay attention to anything, nor believe anything. I played card games and gambled in casinos day and night.

Practice Dafa, Be Healthy and StrongAround this time, my son opened a snack bar in a hospital, and asked me to manage it. While working there I met a couple from Sichuan, the wife was at the hospital for an operation and spent tens of thousands of dollars to preserve her life. Because they used all their money, the husband ate only one meal every one to two days. Upon seeing that, I invited him to have meals with us at no charge. He said to me, "If I do not pay, my wife's medicine will be stopped." I assured him it would be OK and lent him several hundred yuan. Because they could not afford the hospitalization, his wife had to leave before she was fully recovered and had to recuperate at home.

Later when he came to return the money, he brought a few packages of their hometown local products wrapped with newspaper as a gift. When I unfolded the paper, I saw the front page saying how bad Falun Gong was. I had this concept in my mind: what the evil CCP says is good may not be good, what it says is bad may not be bad. The CCP has been this way since it came into power, so it drew my attention to the newspapers and television to find out what was going on. It was around July 20, the period of time when the Jiang and Luo political regime initiated the crackdown on Falun Gong country-wide. The papers and television slandered Falun Gong daily, but provided no rationale for it. After I read the reports, I had a thought to find a Falun Gong practitioner and ask what the story was.

On one occasion I met an acquaintance from the public security bureau at the square, and asked him about the Falun Gong issue. He said, "There is one in your system, you know him. He is now locked up in a detention center, I heard he needs to pay 3000 yuan for his release." After this Falun Gong practitioner came home, I went to see him. I asked what Falun Gong was. He said, "Falun Gong is cultivation; it teaches people to be good. If you want to know, I can lend you a copy of "Zhuan Falun." After reading it, you can keep it if you think it is good, otherwise you can return it to me."

After I read Zhuan Falun the first time, I felt surprised that the human world still had such a wonderful book! After reading it several times, I felt my whole body was warm. After that I fearlessly asked to learn the exercises, and joined the practitioners' mini type experience sharing conference. Since then I became a Dafa disciple.

I am over 70, and before I began the practice, I wore over 400 power presbyopia eyeglasses when reading. My left leg would give me trouble while walking, and I used my hands to support my body when going up stairs. My lower abdomen felt like it was being hammered with nails, and I had pain when I was hungry or full. This symptom lasted for thirty years. After I was operated on by experts and took medicine, my hemorrhoids did not recover. Instead they became more severe. My head gave me severe pain twice a year, which could not be cured by any medicine. After practicing Falun Gong for less than one year, I no longer need eyeglasses, and could still see small characters clearly. I can walk up hills easily, and I feel my body is light, as if someone lifts up my feet. All the other diseases disappeared as well. Not only that, the wrinkles also disappeared from my face. I went to get a haircut, and the hairdresser asked me, "What did you eat? Half of your white hair has turned black." When I compared my current photo with the photo I took in 1991 at the time of my retirement, I was also surprised. I am in ruddy health, looking much younger than before, and my face is no longer dark.

Our family had a visitor from far away, who asked my age. I asked him to guess. He said, "You are 50 maximum, 2 to 3 years younger than me." I asked his age, he said he was nearly 53. I smiled and said, "I retired at 60 in 1991, I am now 76." He was very surprised, "I can't tell your age at all!"

I have benefited so much from Dafa, but contributed so little. During the persecution, practitioners who practiced before July 20 were monitored very closely by police. It was very difficult to print truth-clarification materials and Teacher's new articles. The place where we used to print Dafa materials were afraid of trouble from the police. Even though they printed some, it was very expensive. They charged 40 yuan to print one copy of Hong Yin II. Because I was not registered by the 610 Office, I did all the copying of materials, which cost at least several hundred yuan each time. I was also concerned about safety, so I had the thought of establishing a truth-clarification materials production site. At that time, the majority of practitioners disagreed that I shoulder this load, because I began the practice late, and my character was especially bad. When I demanded my withheld wages, I often went to the city government and made a lot of noise, and cursed the CCP and Jiang Zemin in public. I would talk about how I had been deceived by the CCP when I was young. I was asked to "serve the people" in the prime of my life, and now when I am old, I do not receive a pension. This situation is due to the CCP's black conscience - people in power now are too corrupt. All of these behaviors of mine made fellow practitioners worry.

Every time I became angry, I would feel dizzy. I'd lie in bed and think, "How can a practitioner be so angry, where is my compassion? Where is my forbearance? My head was not dizzy before the practice. Now that I learned Dafa, I had no other problems, but my head becomes dizzy." I enlightened to the fact that our great Teacher was telling me cultivation is serious so I could get rid of the attachment.

Teacher's new articles pointed out that Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples must do the three things well. For fellow practitioners to improve as soon as possible, we must print materials. So I consulted a practitioner who knows technical things about buying equipment, and decided to buy a computer and laser printer. I borrowed 2000 yuan from fellow practitioners, and another 2000 yuan from a relative in the countryside to set up the materials production site. Now that it is established, Teacher's new articles reach practitioners the same day of publication, and "Minghui Weekly" also reaches practitioners on the same day. We can have truth-clarification materials and print as many as we want, and we can have Zhuan Falun at any time. After the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and About Jiang Zemin came out, we printed them in large quantities.

Teacher told us many times that Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples must walk every step righteously, so we should have righteous thoughts and righteous actions. Once, I considered that since the materials production site was consuming greater amounts of materials, I would open a retail shop providing photocopy and Internet download services to make some money. I employed a non-practitioner who understood the techniques. A customer then came to photocopy something, and the paper came out so dark that you could not see one word. I felt puzzled, "It was fine last night, why is it not working today?" I thought the selenium drum was broken, so I bought a new one, but the printout got even worse, I thought the machine had a problem. I asked a repair tech to check it out and he said it would take a few hours just to disassemble the machine. I realized it was not the machine, so I decided not to do the repair. I took it home and tested it, and it worked fine. I realized that what Teacher does not tell us to do, we can't do. I realized that equipment for making truth-clarification materials are to be used to save people, not to make money.

My great-nephew had nephritis and was hospitalized. His family is poor, and doctors demanded over 30,000 yuan to treat his diseases. His father works far away in Yunnan, and it was very difficult for them to pay this money for the treatment. So I decided to mobilize family members, relatives and close friends to subsidize him. The money was collected with great difficulty, but it was used up after only 10 days of hospitalization. The doctor in charge said they had considered all treatment options, but they were not optimistic, and thought it would be better to transfer him to a province hospital for a blood transfusion to see if he can be saved! This was the decision of the experts, which implied he was sentenced to death.

After I heard about this, I went to the ward to see him, and had one thought: Teacher, please save him. I brought Teacher's lectures on cassettes, and let him listen through the earphones. After he listened to one and a half cassettes, he spat saliva. My nephew ran over and said his condition was not good. "After you left, he spat a few big bowls of saliva." I said, do not be afraid, this is a good thing, Teacher is cleaning his body. As expected, within three hours, he could get up to walk, and wanted to have porridge. The next day he wanted to have chicken and other nutritious food. The square was crowded at night, and he wanted to go out and play. The doctors felt strange, but people knew the reason. They all know that Dafa is truly supernatural. In my great-nephew's school, there were over 30 other patients with the same diseases. One of the parents came to me and asked me to treat his child. He said, "I do not believe in doctors, I believe in gods." I replied, "Ok, ask him to say 'Falun Dafa is good! 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance' is good!'" The patient indeed recovered.

Due to insufficient Fa study, I have big gaps compared to diligent practitioners. I can only be more diligent in the future Fa-rectification cultivation, and be a steadfast Fa-rectification period Dafa practitioner. If there is anything inappropriate in my sharing, fellow practitioners please point it out with compassion.
