Validating the Fa in Merlion Park

Merlion Park is an important place to clarify the truth to Chinese people, because there are more than 1000 tourists there each day. Fellow practitioners have kept going there no matter how bad the weather is, or how huge the difficulties they are facing. They are marvelous at clarifying the truth about Falun Gong every day to precious Chinese people, spreading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and persuading people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

I always go there in the afternoon. Since many fellow practitioners have to work in the afternoon, only three or four practitioners are around, and sometimes only two. This spring, temporary construction was set up stretching from the river bank to the bridge, leaving only a ten-foot wide path. We cannot stop doing the group exercises, nor stop displaying the poster boards, because the Chinese tourists need to learn the truth. We then started to lean our poster boards directly against the side wall without the supporting frames (so as to conserve space) so that tourists could see the serenity of Falun Dafa, and the truth of the persecution.

Prior to CCP official Li Lanqing's visit to Singapore in July 2006, the atmosphere was a little tense in Merlion Park. Sometimes policemen would take away our poster boards. Our fellow practitioners took each such incident as a good opportunity to clarify the truth to policemen. We told them why we displayed the poster boards there, that we have been doing this for the past seven years, and that we will keep doing this until the persecution ends. Throughout the week of Li Lanqing's visit, there were lots of policemen from many departments. They would not let us display the poster boards, and sometimes they even stopped us from passing out flyers. They pressured us, especially when we were protesting Li Lanqing's persecution of Falun Gong.

On the last day, four policemen came. A fellow practitioner and I went to clarify the truth to a dark skinned policeman. The practitioner had tears in his eyes when telling the officer that we display the poster boards because the cruelty of the persecution that is happening in China is beyond description. I was very sad as well. Those officers were all very quiet. Our compassionate, but firm dedication, moved these officers. That dark skinned officer later told his colleagues in the Department, "You know what? That old man had tears in his eyes. I feel they are good people." He asked me why we display poster boards. I told him that Chinese people do not dare to accept truth-clarification materials, but they can read these poster boards without getting into trouble after going back to China.

After Li Lanqing left the country, the police all disappeared. We continued to display our poster boards, helping people to learn the truth. Occasionally policemen would still come to take our poster boards away, and force practitioners to give a statement at the police department. Every time such an incident happened, we all called the Central Police Bureau and thoroughly clarified the truth. The officers investigating the case changed their view of us. On two recent occasions, they did not require us to go to the Bureau any more. The officers have stopped coming to Merlion Park for a long time thanks to overseas practitioners who were all helping to make phone calls to clarify the truth.

Displaying poster boards is very effective. Tourists can see them clearly from far away. The boards are forming a strong energy field together with practitioners who are doing the exercises and passing out materials. Displaying the poster boards also help us upgrade xinxing, as it is a good test of whether we still have fear of policemen taking away the boards. Our eight poster boards are standing there very bright and shiny. We have placed five more poster boards at the entrance to the bridge. We are giving Chinese people many chances to learn the truth about Falun Dafa. Many people have changed their minds after viewing our display boards.

One day, during the week of July 2006, policemen were waiting for us in the early morning. It was raining hard. Hundreds of Chinese tourists were standing under the bridge. We stood closely with them. Lightning and thunder were right above where we stood. Sometimes we regretted not cultivating better, because we were not able to effectively clarify the truth to some of them. Notably, when some asked questions with a bad intention, I answered with a loud voice and with the mentality of confrontation. Now I have learned to calmly pass out truth-clarification materials with a smile, and chat with the tourists with ease.

There have been lots of Chinese tourists in Merlion Park lately. They are all getting braver. They watch us doing exercises from a very close distance; they take many photos, and some have even told us, "I saw (Falun Gong) in Thailand." "Your group is much smaller than other places. The groups in Hong Kong are very powerful."

Merlion Park is where we directly face many Chinese. It is so important. I wish I could go there every day. If I do not go, there may be only two practitioners out there. I urge myself to go. I have seen one of our practitioners, a small framed gentleman, carrying heavy materials, going there 365 days a year, always facing all the hardships with a smile. Another practitioner cannot hear, but keeps telling people to withdraw from the CCP to ensure a safe future. These fellow practitioners are so remarkable. I hope that we can all treasure our brief yet predestined relationships, get rid of our karmic debts, help Master's Fa-rectification, and fulfill our historical mission.
