(Clearwisdom.net) As Falun Dafa disciples, we all know that modern science influences human thoughts. With the theories of science prevailing, human beings don’t believe in gods and eventually deviate from the true propose of being a human, that is, returning to their true origin. Ancient people lived simple lives, but today’s human beings rely on modern science and simultaneously indulge their desires. Their attachment to ease and comfort drives them to seek satisfaction in their ordinary lives and they are attached to personal benefits and desires. Because they are always looking for temporary profits and material gains, they have lost their sense of true nature. They don’t live by a set of beliefs—they have lost themselves due to the “insights” provided by modern science. Human beings have deconstructed themselves over time; this is part of the old forces' arrangements.
Why are there some Falun Dafa practitioners who cannot cultivate diligently even when they understand this point? Why can't they get rid of their attachments? They are reluctant to do the “three things” and are only practicing personal cultivation. Under this circumstance, they don't realize that they are actually acknowledging the persecution of the old forces. Because of the easy and comfortable life they live, they are deconstructing their righteous thoughts and diligent cultivation.
At this stage of the Fa-rectification, with the environment being not that strict, we need to be more clear and have righteous thoughts. We are cultivating in ordinary society so we need to conform to society, but we cannot associate with the attachments held by people in ordinary society. Compared with the monks in temples, we have more tribulations and difficulties than they; at the same time, the requirement from the Fa is higher for us. At present, the attachment of ease and comfort is not only an attachment; we need to be aware of it and understand that it is a form of persecution of practitioners. We must not deconstruct ourselves in the final stage—this is what the old forces are trying to do to us. They have never given up persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners and sentient beings.
This is my personal understanding from studying the Fa. I hope my fellow practitioners will kindly correct any shortcomings.
