Finland: Children Love Falun Gong (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) At the beginning of 2007 Helsinki practitioners established a new
exercise site at the Kannelmäki Youth House in Helsinki. Youth House organized a
cultural event in March and invited local practitioners to introduce Falun Gong to the local young people.

The activity was held on March 15, 2007. Practitioners introduced the exercises to a groups of childrens between 7-12 and 13-17. Many kids joined the workshop. The practitioners started by playing the waist drums, then showed the five exercises, taught them the exercises, and folded paper lotus flowers with them at the end.

As five practitioners showed the exercises, another practitioner told the children about the basic principles of Falun Dafa—“Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance”—and how to be a good person and give up selfishness. The young people seemed to understand the basics of the principles and they looked happy to hear that there still is something so good in the world.

This practitioner also told them that this good practice has been cruelly persecuted under the CCP in China since 1999 and how the CCP has harvested illegally many Falun Gong practitioners’ organs when they were still alive and then burned the corpses to eliminate the evidence. The children asked immediately how such a thing could happen, whether the persecution was still going on, and why couldn't people exercise in a peaceful environment. After hearing the truth of the situation in China, the kids wanted to sign the petition to stop the persecution and torture of Falun Gong practitioners.

They were interested to learn the exercises, especially the fifth exercise. They thought that doing the exercises was exciting, and they wanted to learn the beautiful hand-movements. Some of them were interested to come again to practice.

Lotus flower folding was also popular. Many of the kids were surprised that they could fold such nice flowers and wanted to fold more than one. The Youth House staff also wanted to try the exercises and fold lotus flowers.

After the workshop, everybody left with happy looks on their faces and said goodbye to the Falun Gong practitioners.
