Divine Performing Arts Troupe's Performance Passes on Important Messages

(Clearwisdom.net) After touring 18 cities and presenting 47 shows in North America, Europe and Japan, the Divine Performing Arts Troupe held their first performance in the Southern Hemisphere in Brisbane, Australia, on March 17, 2007. With the theme of authentic Chinese divine culture, and an outstanding performance, the show raised public awareness about traditional Chinese culture and classical Chinese dance around the world. The divine culture displayed by NTDTV's 2007 production of the Chinese New Year Spectacular belongs to the world.

The show started with the large-scale dance "Creation," which is the soul of the show. The compassionate Master Buddha leads gods and goddesses to the mortal world and creates a beautiful future for the sentient beings of the universe. Then the Master Buddha leads gods and goddesses to establish the grand culture of the Tang Dynasty, disclosing the origin of Chinese divine culture. If we take a look at human history, we find many legends about gods and stories in which humans and gods coexisted, with footprints of gods in all countries, among all nationalities, and in all languages. With the passing of time, people forget where they came from. With the development of human society, today's people place more value on profit and gain, and they don't believe in the existence of gods or Buddha. Even though some people follow a religion, they treat it as a formality. Even worse, some people become nuns or monks to escape real life. The performance of "Creation" profoundly touched the hearts of the audience members, unlocking that saved memory that had been sealed off for so long and resonating in their hearts. The audience sensed they were surrounded by the great benevolence of gods and Buddhas. "Creation" reminded people that gods and Buddhas came to earth to save humankind and establish human civilization and culture. Human arts should praise and eulogize gods and Buddhas.

The dance performances "The Loyalty of Yue Fei" and "Mulan" enabled people to understand the importance of loyalty, filial piety, righteousness and rituals that were exemplified in these young heroes' actions. The piece "To the Rightful Place" demonstrated the righteous belief of Falun Dafa and the Fa and the heavenly principle "Good Is Rewarded with Good; Evil Meets Evil with Evil Returns." People were touched by "Candlelight Vigil" because it showed how Falun Gong practitioners resist the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution in order to save people's lives. They demonstrated forbearance, compassion and great mercy in clarifying the truth to sentient beings at every opportunity. Some of them were even persecuted to death by the CCP, yet practitioners are compassionate enough to remind us of the great vows made by gods and Buddhas who came to earth to save sentient beings. I was so touched that I could not hold back my tears. Tenor Guan Guimin's song "Finding Myself" brought up the question of the purpose of human life and how we should live, issues that deserve serious consideration.

Artistically speaking, the Divine Performing Arts Troupe's beautiful and graceful dancing, pure and appealing songs, elegant and wonderful music, along with the magnificent and extraordinary heavenly scenes depicting things of heaven and earth, astonished people. It may be said that "The heavenly light was reflected on earth." With profound inner meaning, the NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular left the audience wanting more and lost in the memory of it; every scene touched the hearts of the audience. I, too, felt fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend the show. Watching the performance, I learned a lot and my mind was elevated.

I also got the strong impression that an important objective of this performance was for the gods and Buddhas to pass on a serious message to us through the show. As Soprano Bai Xue sang: "When disaster descends, It favors neither rich nor poor. But there is a way out --Quickly find what is true!" Moving and simple lyrics contain truth and cause people to think deeply. So don't forget to quickly find the truth while you are enjoying the performance of the Divine Performing Arts Troupe.
