Firmly Believing in Falun Dafa, a 70-Year-Old Practitioner Recovers After Severe Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 22, 2005, Ms. Luo Qingshu, a Falun Dafa practitioner of over 70 years old, was “illegally arrested” by officers from the Tuanjiexincun Police Station in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, and detained in the Taoshuping Detention Center in Lanzhou City for 15 days. On March 8, the police station detained her in the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center in Lanzhou City.

In the seven and a half months she spent at the Lanzhou Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center, Ms. Luo firmly refused to be “transformed.” Besides verbally abusing, beating, and kicking her, thugs handcuffed her and strung her up all day and night. They even did it for as long as 12 days and nights. Such brutal handcuffing and hanging caused Ms. Luo Qingshu to have dizzy spells. Once she felt her heartbeat slow and her feet, legs, and hands swell. The pain felt as if her body was being pulled apart at the waist. In the end she fainted, went into a state of shock, and became incontinent. She became absolutely still. Seeing this, the police let her down, but hung her up again after she regained consciousness.

Ms. Luo went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She became emaciated and was on the verge of dying. The last time she was handcuffed and hung up, she had massive bleeding in her digestive tract and she was covered in blood. She lost consciousness and went into shock. She did not know that she was taken to the Armed Police Hospital. Ms. Luo Qingshu refused any medical treatment after she regained consciousness. She said, “I am a Falun Gong practitioner. I don't have illnesses.” The doctor said, “Your hemoglobin is at only three grams, and your highest pressure is only 70.” She still firmly refused an infusion.

The doctor thought she would not survive, and neither did the police. They took her deathbed picture. The police feared being held responsible and shifted everything—including the medical expenses, accountability for her unconsciousness, and surveillance—to her employer. Ms. Luo was carried out of the emergency room, and the ambulance took her home. After she got home, she was still bleeding. Her family members were afraid and quickly asked her to take medicine, fearing that her condition would be very difficult to reverse. However, Ms. Luo Qingshu insisted on not using medicine.

Ms. Luo Qingshu, who was on the verge of death, firmly believed in Falun Dafa and wholeheartedly studied the “Fa.” She lay in bed to listen to the Fa and read Master's articles when she could not move. As soon as she could sit up, she began to do the meditation with a quilt at her back to support her. She also stood against a table to practice the Falun Gong exercises. Her health recovered quickly. One month later, she could take care of herself again. It was Master's benevolent protection and the mighty power of Falun Dafa that saved her life.

The evil wanted to torment her to death by any means possible, and Master saved her from death each time. She felt grateful to Master and Falun Dafa. As soon as her health recovered, she began to clarify the truth, save sentient beings, and do the “three things” well regularly.
