Germany: Helping the People of Bielefeld Know About the Persecution of Falun Gong (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) "Why is he sitting there?" asked a passerby. The passerby was curious and wanted to know why a young Chinese man sat on a chair in the pedestrian zone. There were a pair of crutches right next to his chair and he was holding up a piece of paper that said, "A Labor Camp Survivor."

To help the local people know about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, German practitioners organized an information booth in downtown Bielefeld on Saturday, March 10. They presented a mini-simulation of an organ harvesting operation and reenacted one of the torture methods used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) against Chinese practitioners during the persecution. At the site, they also displayed banners that read "Harvesting Organs from Falun Gong Practitioners for Profit," "Concentration Camps in China" and "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong," as well as many posters which documented facts of the persecution.

Wang Zhen comes from Shanghai, where he suffered inhuman persecution at Qingpu Labor Camp. Two prison guards broke both of his hip joints and several other bones. He also suffered other physical and mental tortures during the so-called "re-education." Handicapped due to torture, he had to have an artificial limb and an artificial hip joint installed on his right side.

Mr. Wang began Falun Gong practice when he was a college student. After the persecution started in July 1999, Mr. Wang found that the persecution was solely based on lies and violence. To help his fellow citizens understand the real story, he distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. For this very reason, he was arrested several times and was brutally tortured.

Though he now lives in Germany, he still can't forget what he witnessed and experienced, not the least of which is that his best friend is still in prison for his belief in Falun Gong. According to Mr. Wang, two of his fellow practitioners died from torture while in detention. Another fellow practitioner simply disappeared after the persecution began and he has no clue whether she is imprisoned or murdered.

Mr. Wang wants the German people to know what is going on in China and to step forward to stop the atrocities. In order to achieve this noble goal, he managed to overcome many difficulties to participate in this event.

A number of passersby were very interested in Wang's story. They asked questions and showed their sympathy.

A large number of people were rather shocked and asked, "What is going on?" "This is absolutely awful." "How can anyone do something like this to other people?" One gentleman said that he had already heard of organ harvesting in China and yet he was shocked, as it appears to be a systematic and widespread crime. Some people looked bewildered. "I don't understand." "What is that?"

Some passersby asked, "Can this event make an impact?" The practitioners responded, "Yes, the more signatures we can collect, the sooner that politicians will have to respond, and no longer ignore this persecution."

Often times passersby would ask, "What can we do to help?" Many expressed their concern on trading with China and said that they won't buy products made in China until the persecution ends.

One person said, "To be honest, I no longer wish to buy anything made in China. I want to make sure that my money does not support something like that."
