Practitioners Mr. Ye Zhenghui and Mr. Mao Dexing Illegally Sentenced

On January 12, 2007, the Mishan City Court of Heilongjiang Province put Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Ye Zhenghui and Mr. Mao Dexing, both from Hulin City, on trial. Due to lack of evidence, the trial had to be adjourned. The Mishan City Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Political and Judiciary Committee said the practitioners must be heavily sentenced. Therefore, the City Court held a secret hearing, and sentenced Mr. Ye and Mr. Mao to three years and five years in prison respectively for "undermining the law." The court ignored the fact that the first court session had already concluded that "the charges did not reflect the actions." Mr. Ye is appealing his innocence.
