Mr. Tian Fujian Died from Police Brutality in Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Tian Fujian lived in Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province. He was arrested twice between the years of 2000 and 2001. Police officers and officials have constantly come to his home to harass him. In September 2006, Mr. Tian Fujian was arrested again and died soon after he was released on December 23, 2006.

Mr. Tian Fujian, 61, lived in Jingxia Prefecture of Yuanjinag City, Hunan Province. He was arrested by state security agents Zeng Ming, Li Laiqun, and Luo Pingqiang when clarifying the truth to people in September 2006. They detained him in Yangsiqiao Detention Center in Yuanjiang City. On December 22, 2006, he was taken to the hospital by people from the Yangsiqiao Detention Center, as he was close to death due to mistreatment. He died the next day after his family took him home.

Mr. Tian Fujian's son knew that his father was only released because he was dying as a result of being tortured, and he went to the Yuanjiang City Police Department to request a settlement. The Yuanjiang City Police Department gave him ten thousand yuan, and the Yansiqiao Detention Center gave him five thousand yuan.

Yuanjiang City state security agents Zeng Ming, Luo Pingqiang, and others have always been actively involved in arresting Falun Dafa practitioners and ransacking their homes. In September 2006, Zeng Ming stopped Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Damao and tried to search him, but Mr. Liu refused to cooperate. Zeng Ming called for more agents and forcibly detained Mr. Liu Damao. He took more than ten copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party from him. Afterwards, he ransacked his home and detained Mr. Liu Damao in the Yangsiqiao Detention Center. After Mr. Tian Fujian was tortured to the point of death, the detention center quickly transfered Mr. Liu Damao to the Xinkaipu Labor Camp in Changsha City. Mr. Liu had a history of strokes and was paralyzed the last time he was detained in the labor camp, so he was rejected when they found that his blood pressure was very high. They eventually released him.

In the past nearly eight years of persecution, the Yuanjiang City State Security agents have actively participated in the persecution of around 60 Falun Dafa practitioners by arresting them, sending them to forced labor, sentencing them to prison terms, and confiscating the practitioners' property. Practitioner Ms. Tian Qingxiang's computer, copier, laser printer, and other valuables were taken away by these agents.
