Additional Persecution News from China - February 23, 2007 (8 Reports)

Ms. Zheng Shouqin, a practitioner from Yuanqiao Township, Hedong Development District, Dezhou City, was arrested at her home on February 2, 2007 by police officers from the Yuanqiao Police Station. She is now serving an 18-month sentence at the Jinan Forced Labor Camp for Women.

At 11:00 a.m. on February 10, 2007, officers from the Dashi Police Station in Xinghewan, Panyu County (Xincheng area) arrested eight people at the home of Mr. Lin Zhiyong, including Mr. Lin, Ms. Liang Wenjuan, Mr. and Mrs. Liang Wenjian, Ms. Li Dongmei, Mr. Wanghe, and Ms. Wu Jiangyan.

Practitioner Ms. Zhou Haiyan was taken to a brainwashing center at the Dalian Environmental Hotel for persecution. Because she would not recant her solid belief in Falun Dafa, she is not allowed visits from family members or friends.

On February 7, 2007, policeman Hanxiao from the Huanghailu Police Station and 610 Office agent Xu Yungang ransacked Ms. Zhou's home and sent her to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for two years.

Practitioner Mr. Lu Hengyi was illegally sentenced by the Mudanjiang Public Security Bureau to a three-year imprisonment. Mr. Lu is currently held in the Tenth Section of the Mudanjiang Prison. He has been tortured so severely that his face is deformed, his ears are oozing pus, and his whole body has psoriasis.

At around 10:00 p.m. on January 27, 2007, Ms. Huang Ronghua in Shunyi District was arrested again. The police climbed over the wall to get into her home, and they also ransacked her house.

In Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, a practitioner about 50 years old was arrested on February 20, 2007 while distributing truth-clarification materials in the city's east side development area.

On February 12, 2007, after being arrested and tortured, practitioner Liu Hongwei was carried into court and put on trial. Liu had previously endured similar persecution.

In early February 2007, a female practitioner, about 50, was arrested by State Security police in her home. She resided in Huawo Village, Shangcang District, Ji County, Tianjin City. They took her computer, a printer and other materials. Currently, they are holding her at the Ji County Detention Center.
