(Clearwisdom.net) One day two practitioners shared their experiences with me. One asked me, "Are you attached to reaching Consummation?" He then said, "I'm troubled that I am unable to eliminate this attachment." He continued by saying that it would not be true cultivation if we could not eliminate this attachment. This has worried him so much that he could not study the Fa and do the three things well. He worried that everything he did was a selfish pursuit of achieving Consummation, and that this notion itself may prevent him from reaching Consummation. His distress at his inability to rid himself of this notion was obvious.

I thought for a whole night about this and came to the following conclusions:

There is nothing wrong with having the desire to reach Consummation, which means the appearance of one’s Buddha nature. Master taught 100 million Dafa practitioners. Why would Master have disseminated the Fa if none of us had the desire to reach Consummation? Is this Master’s wish? What is Master’s purpose? From individual cultivation to Fa-rectification cultivation, from protesting the persecution to helping people withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) - everything we do is for the purpose of Dafa cultivation until we reach Consummation. If a practitioner does not know why he cultivates and remains unaware of the ultimate purpose of cultivation, how could he be a dedicated cultivator?

The desire to reach Consummation is not wrong, but we should not have fear of an inability to reach Consummation. Such an attachment could be a strong disruption - our basis would not be righteous and our minds not pure. We may not act with reason in this human world, potentially bringing loss to Dafa and providing opportunities for the evil to exploit. Master is concerned about this. Many of Master's lectures address this issue - how to avoid such an attachment while keeping the desire for reaching Consummation.

Master said,

"As a person sits there, without moving his hands or feet, he is able to do what others cannot do even with their hands and feet, and he can see the actual truth of each dimension in the universe. This person can see the truth of the universe and things that an everyday person cannot. Isn’t he a person who has attained the Tao through practicing cultivation? Isn’t he a great enlightened person? How can he be considered the same as an everyday person? Isn’t he an enlightened person through cultivation practice? Isn’t it correct to call him an enlightened person? In ancient Indian language he is called a Buddha." ("Lecture One" from Zhuan Falun, 2000 translation version)

We have achieved many things during Fa-rectification by sending forth righteous thoughts. What does this tell us? Does an ordinary person have this ability, to influence other dimensions? Can’t we tell whether we are human beings or gods? As I understand, we have already achieved our most wonderful and magnificent wish through the cultivation in Dafa. If we do not recognize this and still pursue results and form a strong attachment to "fearing attachment," this is not correct.

Dear fellow practitioners: Prior to July 20, 1999, Master had pushed us to our highest levels and given us everything. All we need to do is use what Master gave us to validate Dafa and rescue people. We must constantly eliminate our human notions in this process and constantly purify ourselves to reach Consummation. Everything we do is the process of consummating our own world and rescuing people.

This is what I understand at my current level. I hope this will help some fellow practitioners to eliminate their attachment.
