Don't Wait, Don't Rely on Others, Hurry Up and Tell Them

(Clearwisdom.net) Sometimes, one of our thoughts may stray, causing us to miss an opportunity to clarify the truth and save sentient beings. Although it may seem trivial, we should not let these opportunities slip by.

On one occasion a good friend of my wife's came to visit. Because we work in different cities, we usually can only see each other once or twice a year. It had been over a year since she last visited. The last time, I had failed to clarify the truth because of time constraints and my lack of righteous thoughts. This time the friend came with her husband. I turned on the laptop computer and played a truth-clarification video. At first they were only chatting with each other, but gradually, they started to pay more attention to the video. We talked about prophecies and some other things. I could feel that bit by bit, their misunderstandings about Dafa, which was caused by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) culture, was melting away. Before they left, they both decided to withdraw from the Communist Youth League.

What I wanted to talk about is a notion we may have. We were previously always nervous or worried that others wouldn't understand. When others visited us, we felt too timid to play the truth-clarification video or were too shy to clarify the truth to them in person. But when we were able to do so, we found that the effect was very good. Ordinary people usually understand and accept, unless they choose to not have a future. Why did they come here? Weren't they here to seek the truth?

Another time, my aunt and her daughter came to visit us. As soon as they got here, they started watching TV. When I came home, I played a truth-clarification video. Although they didn't pay close attention, having them watch the video was actually bringing them a good future. They did understand more about the persecution. Even if they did not understand everything, we were still saving them.

Once I went to a great aunt's home. There were many people at her house, including several Dafa practitioners. They were playing some popular music on video. I popped in a truth-clarification video, and the result was very good. Everyone watched it attentively. Several decided to withdraw from the CCP on the spot.

These instances made me realize the power of Dafa disciples' righteous thoughts. We cannot wait or rely on others. At such an important time in history, those who have the opportunity to see us must have been arranged to do so by Teacher to seek the truth. We must not neglect to complete this historic mission of clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings due to our laziness or other human notions.

There are also others, who due to a variety of reasons, may make us feel like they cannot be saved. However, we still need to give them a choice and should not give up on them too easily.

Once I went to an uncle's house with my wife. I wanted to clarify the truth to my uncle and his wife, but my wife was hesitant, since she heard from other practitioners that they were "stubborn." I told my wife, "It's their choice whether they listen to us--they are choosing their future. But we need to give them a chance to choose regardless of what they may say."

My uncle had a hard time walking, so I told him to recite "Falun Dafa is great" often. He gladly accepted. We also talked about many miraculous instances where saying "Falun Dafa is great" brought great benefits. I told his wife, who has a reputation of being "stubborn," about the CCP's many evil deeds and about withdrawing from the CCP. In addition, I explained that she needed to take good care of truth-clarification materials, and that after she is done reading them, she should give them to others. If she throws them away or destroys them, there may be bad consequences. She accepted all of it. She also asked several questions about things that she did not understand, such as why many Falun Dafa practitioners risked their lives to go to Beijing to appeal and were fired from their jobs. We answered her questions thoroughly and patiently.

On the way back, my wife and I shared the same feeling, which was that my uncle and his wife were not as stubborn as others said. If we had believed that they would not change their minds and became afraid to clarify the truth or started to resent them, that would actually be our problem and a reflection of our lack of righteous thoughts. When we clarify the truth, and we only think about saving people, usually the results are much better. We are giving them a chance to choose.
