Practitioner Mr. Xi Zhaojun from Kangbao County, Hebei Province was turned in to the police while he was clarifying the truth. He has been held in custody for over fifty days and has been on hunger strike protesting the persecution. Recently, he became completely emaciated and cannot move his body. His life is in imminent danger. Officials from the Kangbao County Court demanded 1,000 yuan from Mr. Xi's family, and Mr. Xi's family has paid 500 yuan already.

Ms. Shi Zhangmei, 53, was arrested in April 2006 by the Shiyan City 610 Office, the Zhangwan District State Security Division, and the Huaguo Police Station. The officers unlawfully searched her home. Without going through any legal processes, the authorities secretly sentenced Ms. Shi to three years in prison. She is being held at the Wuchang Women's Prison in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. She has been under severe persecution. Since she refused to give up practicing Falun Gong, prison guards have assigned four inmates to monitor and viciously beat her. When her family recently visited her, Ms. Shi told them in the presence of prison guards that inmates had viciously beaten her. The guards pretended to be unaware of the beatings.

At around 10:00 a.m. on April 9, 2007, seven or eight police officers from Zhaoyuan City arrived in two vehicles at practitioner Ms. Qu Hongxiang's home. They overturned furniture at her home and took Ms. Qu and her husband Mr. Liu Xuedong into custody. Mr. Liu refused to cooperate, and four officers carried him into the vehicle. Mr. Liu's parents, who are in their eighties, burst into tears upon learning the news.

Ms. Qu and her husband are being held at the Zhaoyuan City Legal Training Center. Ms. Qu has been on hunger strike protesting the unlawful acts by the police.

In addition, it has been confirmed that practitioner Ms. Lin Kuimei was arrested on November 30, 2006.

At 9:00 a.m. on April 11, 2007, the criminal division of the Xiangyang District Court in Jiamusi City formally put practitioner Mr. Li Shaozhi on trial. At around 8:00 a.m. numerous officers and police vehicles arrived outside the court. The sidewalk outside the court was almost sealed off by the police. Security was tight in the courtroom. Only two of Mr. Li's family members and two attorneys were allowed in the courtroom. No one else was allowed.

Mr. Li Shaozhi has suffered from partial paralysis due to persecution. He cannot walk on his own. Two large men carried him into the courtroom. Mr. Li's mind was not clear as a result of extensive torture, interrogation, and other abuses.

Ms. Zhu Guilin, a practitioner from Shimen County, Changde City, remains in custody in the harsh control division at the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp after the end of her term. On April 12, Ms. Zhu's mother, younger brother, sister-in-law, and practitioner Ms. Guan Yong'e from Shimen County were arrested by police from Shifeng District, Zhuzhou City. The four of them went to the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp on the morning of April 12, demanding the release of Ms. Zhu Guilin. They were arrested upon their departure. Two other young practitioners, Wang (gender unknown) and Liu (gender unknown), were also detained on the same day. The police also searched the homes of practitioners Wang and Liu. Ms. Zhu Guilin's mother, 73, has been released. The other five people remain in police custody.

In addition, on April 9, when Ms. Zhu's family went to visit her in the labor camp, her sister-in-law was beaten by labor camp guards for making an impartial statement regarding the persecution.

Ms. Wu Yueju, a practitioner from Pulandian City, Liaoning Province, was arrested at her home by the police at noon on April 10, 2007. Details are not yet available.

Ms. Wu Yueju, in her fifties, has been arrested twice. After the first arrest, she served three years of forced labor at the Dalian Forced Labor Institute for going to Beijing to validate the Fa in 2000. She remained steadfast in cultivating herself in the labor camp. She was held in a "small cell," hung up from handcuffs, brutally force-fed, deprived of sleep and forces to remain past her term expiry. She was sent to the labor camp the second time after being turned in to the police for clarifying the truth. She managed to get out of the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp by holding a hunger strike.

Mr. Zhang Weijin lives in Changchenzhuang Village, Xinji Town, in Changli County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. He was born in 1964 and started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. He was head of the cultural section of Changli County and honorary director of the county's culture exhibition center before the persecution started in 1999.

In 1999, Mr. Zhang went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong after the persecution started. In October 1999, he was arrested and held at the Changli County Detention Center. In 2000, Zhang Shibang (male), party secretary of Changli County, Song Fulin, party secretary of the county's Political and Judiciary Committee, and other officials ordered the court to unlawfully sentence Mr. Zhang to four years in prison in hopes of gaining career advancement for themselves. When Mr. Zhang was held in the Changli County Detention Center, he was beaten and shocked with electric batons. He was then taken to the No. 4 Prison in Shijiazhuang City where shackles that weighed fifty-plus pounds were placed on him while he performed forced labor. The prison guards also designated inmates to watch him and viciously beat him.

In October 2003, Mr. Zhang Weijin was taken by police to a brainwashing center. In 2004, he was restricted in an iron chair, had cold water poured over him, and was viciously beaten.

At around 10:00 a.m. on April 9, 2007, Zhang Longshou (male), along with officers from the Hanting District State Security Division, officers from the Chengxi Police Station in Hanting District, and security guards from the Chemical Fiber Factory took Ms. Wei Shuxiang (age 68), Ms. Jing Suzhen (in her sixties), Ms. Ren Xianrong (in her sixties), and Ms. Liu (in her sixties) into custody. Ms. Liu was released on the morning of April 10 and she returned to her relatives' home. The other three practitioners were sent on the afternoon of April 9th to a brainwashing center operated by the Weifang City 610 Office. Ms. Kong Fanmei has also been held in the brainwashing center for persecution.

Mr. Lin Wei, 58, is a practitioner from Jilin City. His legs are handicapped. Mr. Lin is an engineer at the Design Institute of the Jilin Chemical Company. He had been placed under surveillance at the company for practicing Falun Gong and visiting Falun Dafa websites. At 8:00 a.m. on April 11, 2007, officers under the coordination of the Ministry of Public Security, Jilin City Police Department, and the Tongjiang Police Station in Jilin City arrested Mr. Lin Wei for the second time at work. Mr. Lin is being held at the Jilin City No. 3 Detention Center.

Ms. Wu Fengchun and her husband Mr. Zhao Jingyi are from Miyun County, Beijing. They had each been unlawfully sentenced to four years of forced labor. After returning from the labor camp, they have been forced to stay away from their home as they continue to practice Falun Dafa. The couple makes a living by frying pan cakes. On March 18, 2007, officers at the Binhe Police Station in Miyun County took them into custody and sent them to the Minyun Detention Center.

At around 5:00 p.m. on April 10, 2007, a group of people got out of a vehicle in front of the Zaozhuang City No. 8 Middle School, where Mr. Li Qiang and his wife were operating their vending business. Without saying a word, the group of people pushed Mr. Li into the car and sped off. This is the third time Mr. Li Qiang has been arrested. Before the Chinese Lunar New Year on February 18, 2007, Mr. Li Qiang's elder brother Mr. Li Gang was arrested for the second time. It was learned that Mr. Li Gang has been held in Zibo City, Shandong Province.

On the morning of April 2007, three officers from the State Security Division of the Yutian County Police Department in Tangshan City took into custody Ms. Zuo Junlian, a 67-year-old practitioner who used to work at the county hospital. The officer followed no legal procedures, presented no legal documents, and searched Ms. Zuo's home in the family quarters of the Food Bureau in Xiakan Village, Yutian Town. The officers forcibly took away a personal computer, a copier, Falun Dafa books and other items. On the morning of April 12, state security officers went to Ms. Zuo's home. They ignored her son, who was ill, and harassed her husband. They used the excuse of needing money for Ms. Zuo's meals and blankets to extort 400 yuan in cash from her daughter and son-in-law. Ms. Zuo Junlian has been unlawfully held at the Yutian County Detention Center.

In the middle of the night on January 25, 2007, practitioner Ms. Zeng Pengying was arrested by Liang Xiaobo (male) and four other officers from Section No. 1 of the State Security Division at her home in Dongsheng Township, Nanchuan City, Chongqing. The police also searched her home, taking away a cassette recorder. While being held at the Nanchuang City Detention Center, Ms. Zeng refused to cooperate with the guards. Guards beat her up and knocked out two of her front teeth. Ms. Zeng Pengying was sentenced to eighteen months of forced labor in mid-March. She has been transferred to the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing.

A new round of persecution against practitioners has started at the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp. No family members are allowed to bring in any food: not even preserved vegetables. The authorities said that this was based on new "guidance" from higher authorities.

At around 10:00 a.m. on April 4, 2007, eight or nine police officers arrived at practitioner Ms. Qu Lianying's home to arrest her. Her husband argued with the police and did not allow them to take Ms. Qu away. Four officers then tightly restrained him while four other officers carried Ms. Qu into the police vehicle. Ms. Qu Lianying is being held at the city detention center.

Practitioner Tang (gender unknown) was distributing truth-clarifying materials near Dongyanglou residential complex on April 5, 2007 when he was arrested and sent to the Yongchang Police Station by security guards.

On April 10, 2007, Ms. Feng Juan, a practitioner from Miyi County, was arrested. The police also searched her home, taking away a notebook computer, a printer, and other items. Ms. Feng Juan's whereabouts are unknown.

At around April 10, 2007, practitioner Ms. Liu Chunxiang went to the Changpo Community in Tianxin District, Changsha City to distribute truth-clarifying materials. She was turned in to the police and arrested.

Practitioner Ms. Liu Lijun started practicing Falun Gong at the end of 1996. After July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong three times.

She was detained at the factory's brainwashing center, where she was deprived of sleep for 72 hours in addition to other physical abuse.

She has also twice been forced to attend brainwashing sessions sponsored by the Zhuge Town Party Committee, where she was deprived of sleep, exposed to the burning sun, kicked and punched, handcuffed, and otherwise physically abused.

She was sent to a brainwashing center in Fengjiazhuang Village. Hao Guijin (gender unknown) from Cuijiayu Town whipped her with bamboo strips, covering her back with wounds. Liu Naqing (male), an electrician in Yishui County, also whipped her with irregularly shaped belts. She was extorted 3,000 yuan in cash as well.

She was sent to the Yishui County Detention Center twice, where she was electrically shocked.

While she was held at the Haidian District Detention Center, she was beaten by guards and inmates. She was also deprived of sleep.

She was deprived of sleep at the Chaoyang County Detention Center in Liaoning Province.

In 2004, she was arrested by the Wulipu Police Station for distributing truth-clarifying materials in Linyi City. She was sent to the Linyi City Detention Center, where she was handcuffed and brutally force-fed. Nine days later, she was taken to the Linyi City Brainwashing Center, where she was deprived of sleep and her mouth was sealed off with duct tape. She was brutally force-fed, tied up with ropes, kicked, and tortured. About twenty days later, on May 20, 2004, Li Yuyou (male) and other members of the Yishui County 610 Office, in coordination with the Zhuge Town Party Committee, took her back. The next day she was unknowingly taken to the Jinan No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp for three years of forced labor.

At around 6:00 p.m. on April 10, 2007, Yang Jianxing (male) from the Junyue Town Comprehensive Treatment Office in Pengzhou City, officers at the Aoping Police Station, and members of the 610 Office, broke into the homes of practitioners Mr. Huang Ruohai and Ms. Zhou Shanhui. The officers took the two practitioners to the Pengzhou City Detention Center without giving any explanations. The officers also searched the two practitioners' homes.

On March 31, 2007, Ms. Zhang Guilian (wife of Mr. Xing Tongsheng), a practitioner from Xu Village in Ganguantun Township, Guan County, went to the neighboring Houmiao Village in Gantun Township to clarify the truth. Liu Ziyu (gender unknown) unlawfully took Ms. Zhang into custody and called the Gantun Township Police Station. Liu then dragged her to the village party committee office. Ms. Zhang Guilian was then taken to the Gantun Township Police Station before being sent to the Guan County Detention Center.

On April 11, 2007, Li Xuesong (male), at the Miyi County State Security Division, and officials from the Binggu Town government pried open the cabinets at practitioner Mr. Guo Huibing's home in Binggu Town and took away Falun Dafa materials.

On April 11, two plainclothes police officers arrested Mr. He Guangrong, a teacher from Pingshan Township, Miyi County.

On the afternoon of April 11, officers from the Guangzhou City Police Department, in association with individuals from the Zengcheng City Police Department, pried open practitioner Ms. Shi Huiwen's room at her workplace's dormitory. The officers took away a personal computer, a removable hard drive, a U3 smart drive, and other property. Ms. Shi was not at her workplace and avoided being arrested.

On January 8, 2007, Cangxi County police arrested practitioners Ms. Wang Xiaohong and Mr. Yang Zhengming (both from Langzhong City) who were clarifying the truth in the Huishui Township of Cangxi County. The two practitioners were taken to the county detention center and viciously beaten. The police tortured and interrogated the practitioners numerous times. In February, the police took the two practitioners to Guangyuan City and announced that they were officially under arrest. Family members of the two practitioners went to the Cangxi County Detention Center several times, demanding their release. Their request was flatly rejected.

At around 11:00 a.m. on April 12, 2007, the Benxi City Police Department launched a new round of arrests. It has been learned that several practitioners have been arrested, including Ms. Zeng Yan, Ms. Li Naiyan, Ms. Gao Chongyan, Ms. Wang Fengqing and Mr. Liu Tingheng.

On April 12, 2007, practitioners Ms. Chuai Cuijun and Mr. Chen Baihe from Qianxi County, Tangshan City, received unlawful judgment documents from the Tangshan City Intermediate Court. Prior to the first ruling, the Qianxi County Court omitted the defense testimony and statements and modified the defendants' transcriptions. None of the witnesses showed up at the hearings either. The hearing concluded without any testimony from witnesses. When the case was processed the second time, no hearing was held prior to rejecting the appeal.

The authorities at the Qianxi Detention Center have decided to send Ms. Chuau Cuijun to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison and Mr. Chen Baihe to the Jidong Prison before April 20.

Around April 6, 2007, Ms. Zhao Xiaoyun, a practitioner who lives on Hengdian Street in Huangpi District, Wuhan City, was arrested by members of the Wuhan City 610 Office without cause.

On April 5, 2007, the Pingdu City Police, in association with officers from the Dazeshan Police Station, unlawfully took three practitioners into custody. Pingdu City police then coordinated with the Dianzi Town Police Station to send out a dozen police officers in two police vehicles to Nansui Village, Dianzi Town at 4:00 a.m. on April 12. The police smashed open practitioner Mr. Wang Yunchong's home door. They got handcuffs ready to arrest Mr. Wang. Only Mr. Wang's wife and daughter were at home. The police had to leave after Mr. Wang's wife condemned them.

At around 12:30 a.m. on April 13, 2007, police arrested Mr. Lu Qingjiang and Ms. Sui Ying at a rented house on Guangshan Street in Pingshan District, Benxi City, Liaoning Province. The police confiscated a personal computer and other equipment. Officers from the Pingshan State Security Division subsequently arrested Mr. Liu and his wife (both in their sixties) and another person whose name is not known. The five people arrested that day are all being held at the Gongren Police Station in Pingshan District, Benxi City.

On April 10, 2007, officers from the 610 Office of the Wangkui County Police Department, the Political and Judiciary Committee, and from the so-called "Falun Gong Special Task Force" took into custody practitioner Ms. Chen Lijun. Mr. Wu Zhenhua, a practitioner from Kaoshan Town in Yitong County, was arrested by the Gongzhuling City police on April 8, 2007 when he was clarifying the truth in Gongzhuling City. His home was searched and a personal computer was confiscated.

Ms. Che Shouying is a practitioner from Xuejia Village in Dongji Township, Kenli County, Dongying City. On April 6, 2007, the Kenli County's police unlawfully sent her to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for an eighteen month term since she has remained steadfast in her belief in Falun Gong.

A large number of practitioners were held at the Changchun City Men's Forced Labor Camp (also known as Fenjin Forced Labor Camp) in the past. For the last couple of years, almost no practitioners remained there. It has been learned that at around March 2007, six practitioners with a firm belief in Falun Dafa were secretly transferred there from the Chaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Another practitioner was transferred from the No. 3 Detention Center. Out of the seven practitioners, three of them are being held in the No. 1 Division and the other four are in the No. 2 Division. Four of the practitioners whose names are known are Ms. Guo Xiaoying, Mr. Liu Cai, Mr. Cui Shoutong, and Mr. Wang Yuejian.

Each class in the Tianjin Road Elementary School in Changchun City has been instructed to hold meetings with a theme of "For Science and Against (slanderous term omitted)." Students were organized to make speeches to slander Falun Gong practitioners. The children were also poisoned by the staged self-immolation in Tiananmen Square. Slanderous articles were read over the school radio and in the playground in order to stir hatred among the children.
