Do Not Use Human Thoughts to Judge Master's Fa
(Clearwisdom.net) Because we are cultivating among everyday people, our
bodies, from the microcosm to the macrocosm are full of all kinds of notions
formed during our many past lives, and those notions have replaced our natural
instincts. They dominate almost everything we do, including how we eat or drink,
what we wear, the way we live, our methods of transportation, and even our view
of the world, time, space, and matter. Everything is infused with these notions
that we have formed among everyday people. Because Master is purifying our
bodies at different levels, through our constant improvement in cultivation,
these things have been continuously eliminated. Although we are practicing Dafa,
enlightening in this level of the Fa, these notions are deep-rooted
in our thoughts. If our righteous thoughts fade a little, then we will be moved
by these notions. Just like Master said : "a lot of our practitioners
cannot release many of their attachments. Many attachments have already become
second nature, and these people themselves cannot detect them." (Zhuan
Falun) Master used the phrase "the last" many times in his recent
articles. The purpose was to encourage us to do better, yet I found that many
practitioners took the phrase to be "at last," implying that we had
already moved to the final stage, so why bother to do this or that. An
understanding that condones carelessness and relaxation is extreme in my view. The attachment to time has come up again. Before we were looking towards the
end, now we are attached to having reached the end. One practitioner said:
"It is already in the last phase, so what are we afraid of? " They
won't listen to other practitioners' advice, and they insist on having their own
way, showing themselves off and feeding the heart of validating themselves. They
are careless about personal safety and work irrationally, causing losses to
themselves and other practitioners. Someone else has said: "Since we're already in the last phase, there's
no need to save money. We should put all our money into making Dafa
materials." This attitude has caused family conflicts. My understanding is
that we cannot use human notions to comprehend Master's Fa regarding "the
last." Maybe Master's saying that is a test for us. When we use human
notions to understand the meaning of "the last," it might mean
"several days," "several months," or "several
years," but in gods' eyes it is just an instant. So how can we use human
notions to judge Master's Fa regarding "the last?" In the past, monks
had to be extremely cautious for a whole lifetime of cultivation, and they dared
not slack off a tiny bit. Here we have only cultivated a little more than ten
years, yet our hearts are already unstable. Is that right? Master has said, "I'd say that our Falun Dafa students have higher
xinxing than monks do in the Dharma-Ending Period. I said that my students'
xinxing is higher than monks'..." ("Comments Regarding the Fa-Rectification
Made at the Falun Dafa Assistants Meeting in Beijing") Then we should ask
ourselves whether we meet Master's requirements? Think about the money that we
wasted by being careless in making Dafa materials, or how we fight with fellow
practitioners. Maybe, subconsciously, we are still attached to "the
last" and want to relax? With human notions, when we have expectations,
then we will have disappointments at the same time. While cultivating, the more
we are attached to some result, the more easily we will be driven by that
result. When we don't achieve the goal, our righteous thoughts might be weakened
and our human hearts could then arise, making it harder to believe Master, or
believe in the Fa, and causing us to sink into a bad state. We just have to honestly do what we should, put down the human heart, and
steadily do the three things that Master told us to do. Do not ask
for rewards, do not be attached to the results; everything will naturally be in
it.
