More Information about Dafa Practitioner Hua Yuliang from Weifang, Shandong Province, Who Was Illegally Arrested

(Clearwisdom.net) At around 7:00 p.m. on April 18, 2007, Wang Rongjun, assistant head of the Public Security Division of the Weifang City Economic Develop Zone Police Station, Shandong Province, led a group of policemen and broke into Dafa practitioner Mr. Hua Yuliang's home. They illegally arrested Hua Yuliang and his wife, Yang Zhifang. They stole all of their cash, bank deposits, and everything valuable in their home. A young child of less than seven years old was left at home alone. Mr. Hua was illegally detained at Weifang Municipal Detention Center. Ms. Yang Zhifang was illegally detained at Shouguang Detention Center in Weifang City. Among the practitioners who were illegally arrested, ten were women who were detained separately in ten different detention centers in Weifang.

Mr. Hua Yuliang was among the first practitioners who were illegally imprisoned in forced labor camps after the Chinese Communist Party started their persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. Since October 1999, he was imprisoned for three years in Weifang Municipal Forced Labor Camp located in Changle, and in the Shandong Provincial Forced Labor Camp located in Wangcun. He was brutally persecuted and suffered from merciless beatings, electric shocks, and detention in solitary confinement. In Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, over ten guards used more than ten electric batons to shock him for hours. He suffered from such torture several times. They also handcuffed him to a metal door in solitary confinement for over 80 days. Mr. Hua's legs became swollen and he became mentally disoriented as a result of the brutal persecution.

After the wicked Party started their persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Hua's workplace - Weifang Construction Bank Kuiwen Branch - actively followed Jiang Zemin's regime and illegally fired Mr. Hua. In 2002, after Hua Yuliang was released from the labor camp, he had no source of income. He made a living by peddling a tricycle to transport people and by selling eyeglasses on the street. He started his small business with little money. With the support of his family, he and his wife opened a small shop selling eyeglasses and telephone services. They could barely make a living.

Ms. Yang Zhifang was illegally detained many times after 1999. She used to work in the Shandong Vocational Animal Science and Veterinary School, which had now been upgraded to the Shandong Vocational Animal Science and Veterinary College. The school stopped her salary for several years as a means of persecution. Before Ms. Yang was arrested this time, however, she was being paid as a temporary worker. Ms. Yang has persistently and firmly cultivated in Dafa, regardless of the pressure and her extremely difficult life.
