Philadelphia Practitioners Participate in Asian-American Heritage Month Celebration
(Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of May 5, the Pennsylvania Governor's
Advisory Commission on Asian-American Affairs sponsored the Asian-American
Heritage Month Celebration to celebrate Asian culture. Local Falun Gong
practitioners participated in this event to promote the practice of Falun Gong.
More than thirty Asian-American groups participated in this celebration, which
was held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Immigrants from China, Korea,
Indonesia, The Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Pakistan and Japan presented
their traditional music, dances and other entertainment programs. At the Falun Gong booth, several practitioners demonstrated the five sets of
exercises, and many visitors asked questions about the features of the practice
and availability of the teaching materials. The Advisory Commission consists of 15 Asian-American community leaders. Its
mission is to ensure the government's attention to Asian-Americans' needs and
concerns, and to help them advance cultural, economic, educational and
technological excellence. |
