Mayor of the City of Tulsa, Oklahoma, proclaimed May 13, 2007 as Falun Dafa Day
in the City of Tulsa. City of Tulsa Proclamation
Whereas, Falun Dafa also known as Falun Gong, is a
peaceful and healthy self-improvement practice rooted in ancient Chinese culture
that consists of five gentle exercises, including meditation, and centers around
the universal principals of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance; and Whereas, the teachings of Falun Dafa, through meditation
and spiritual cultivation, are perceived as an effective means of improving
overall mental and physical health, as well as reducing stress; and Whereas, Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa has
helped countless people throughout the world improve their health and moral
standards, as well as deepen their understanding of life, humanity and the
universe, through the practice of Falun Dafa; and Whereas, transcending culture and racial boundaries,
Falun Dafa has touched the lives of more than 100 million people in over 70
countries, including many people in Tulsa, of different ages, professions and
racial backgrounds; and, Whereas, all Falun Dafa activities, including classes and
practices are offered by volunteers and are open to the public free of charge. Now, Therefore, I, Kathy Taylor, Mayor of the City of
Tulsa, do hereby proclaim May 13, 2007, as "Falun Dafa Day" in the City of Tulsa In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused
the Seal of the City of Tulsa to be affixed on the eighth day of May, Two
