As governor of the state of Washington, I am pleased to welcome all of those celebrating World Falun Dafa Day.

Our state, nation, and world are comprised of a wide array of cultures and traditions. I believe it is vital that we strive for a greater understanding of each other and work together to foster an enhanced awareness and appreciation of the depth and richness of our shared diversity. In light of current world events, it is more important than ever to promote compassion in our relationships, whether with our neighbor next door or across the border.

Today's event provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to gather in the spirit of fellowship and learning.

Thank you all for coming, and please accept my best wishes for a memorable celebration!
