Dallas, Texas: Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day--Many Cities Issue Proclamations (Photos)

On the morning of May 13, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners in Dallas held activity in Russell Creek Park to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of Falun Dafa's public introduction and World Falun Dafa Day and to wish our great Master "Happy Birthday." The mayors of Plano and surrounding cities issued proclamations to praise Falun Dafa and its contributions to society.

Practitioners hung banners proclaiming "Falun Dafa Is Good," "World Falun Dafa Day," etc., and colorful balloons in the park.

On May 13, 1992, Master Li started spreading Falun Gong in China. It was also Master Li's birthday that day. In 2000, after consultation among Falun Dafa associations, May 13 was designated as World Falun Dafa Day. Ever since then, Falun Gong practitioners across the world hold celebration activities in their own areas to express their appreciation to Master for his compassionate saving on May 13.

Mr. Shao has lived in the US for many years and practiced Falun Gong for more than ten years. His appreciation to Master cannot be expressed in words. He said, "Without Master's spread of Falun Dafa, I would not be alive today." He explained that when he read the Dafa books and practiced the exercises, his health improved a great deal. He is more than 80 years old and has good health. He felt fortunate to be able to practice Falun Gong and know the real meaning of life at his advanced age. He wished that other people could be clear as he about treasuring this rare predestined relationship.

Ms. Yang started practicing Falun Gong in the US and said, "For me, World Falun Dafa Day is the most important day of the entire year. Late last night, I was touched to read those articles about Master's spreading Dafa from 1992 to 1994. I think May 13 should be celebrated not only by Falun Gong practitioners but by all sentient beings. Sentient beings have a future only because of what Master has endured and his spreading of the Fa."

Practitioners in Dallas hold group practice and a free Falun Dafa introduction in the public libraries. Many residents have benefited from practicing. They also actively participate in community activities to expose CCP's persecution of Falun Gong and spread the grace of Dafa. This year, many surrounding cities issued proclamations to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day and to praise Falun Dafa's contributions to society.

Mayor Pat Evan of the city of Plano was very pleased to have practitioners celebrate World Falun Dafa Day in his city. She thanked Falun Gong for transcending race, nationality, and culture to spread to over 80 countries. She stated that the persecution of Falun Gong trampled on basic human rights. She encouraged more residents to learn the benefits of practicing Falun Gong.

Mayor Gary A. Slagel of the city of Richardson issued a World Falun Dafa Day Proclamation. In addition, the cities of Allen and Frisco also proclaimed May 13 as Falun Dafa Day. They especially praised practitioners' determination and courage to stand up for "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance while facing severe persecution from the Chinese Communist Party. "They have shown the world the value of life and the preciousness of human dignity."
