Proclamation

In recognition of

Falun Dafa Day

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners are joyously celebrating the Eighth Annual World Falun Dafa Day on May 13, 2007; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa is an advanced exercise and meditation practice of mind, body and spirit based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance; and

Whereas, More men and women in the United States are learning the practice and purifying their hearts, energizing their bodies and striving to create virtuous communities; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa's contribution to society has been widely recognized and honored around the world since Mr. Li Hongzhi introduced it into the public in 1992;

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners' determination and courage to stand up for Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance while facing severe persecution from the Chinese Communist party has shown the world the value of life and the preciousness of human dignity;

Now, therefore, be it resolved that I, Mark A. Steenbergh, Mayor of the City of Warren, Michigan, do hereby proclaim that the thirteenth day of May, 2007 be declared Falun Dafa Day in Warren, in honor of Falun Dafa practitioners and their commitment to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
