(Clearwisdom.net) At noon of May 13, 2007, despite dark skies and, at times, heavy rain, London's famous Leicester Square Gardens were bright and cheerful, lit up by the colorful costumes and smiles of those celebrating Falun Dafa Day.

Overlooked by a statue of William Shakespeare which stands in the middle of the Gardens, an audience remained permanently throughout the day. Passersby stopped to watch and absorb the spectacle for a while before moving on again, to be replaced by newcomers attracted by the beautiful music.

Practitioners of Falun Gong had come from all over the country to participate in the celebration. They distributed leaflets and chatted with people who stopped to find out more.

Each performance was introduced in Chinese and English by two announcers, who explained the significance of Falun Dafa Day to the audience, described the principles of the practice, and also explained about the persecution which Falun Gong is being subjected to in China.

Thousands of leaflets were given out, together with intricately folded paper lotus flowers, bearing the message: The World Needs "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance."

Part of the cycle of performances were frequent demonstrations of the five Falun Gong exercises. Some people commented on the energy field they experienced as practitioners performed the slow movements, peacefully and serenely, despite the rain. Some of the audience spontaneously joined in with the demonstration as they watched, transfixed.

All the participants gathered together at the end of the day for a group photograph to send their heartfelt best wishes to Master Li Hongzhi.
