1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Recent Persecution Situation of Mr. Li Hongwei and Other Practitioners

In October 2006, several officers at the Shandongmiao Police Station, under orders from the State Security Division in Shenyang City, broke into Ms. Wang Yanjie's home. The officers beat Ms. Wang and three other practitioners who were at her home, including Mr. Li Hongwei, Mr. Shi Geng, and Mr. Li Yang. The four practitioners were illegally arrested by the police. The officers also confiscated Ms. Wang's personal computer and other items.

Ms. Wang Yanjie, in her fifties, had been taken to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for three months of severe abuse. The authorities released her only after her life was in imminent danger and her family had been forced to make a cash payment.

Mr. Li Hongwei, in his forties, is an employee of the No. 2 Housing Company affiliated with the Shenhe District Housing Administrative Department. He lives in the Yiyou Residential Community in Shenhe District. After being arrested, Mr. Li was sentenced to one year of forced labor and taken to the No. 1 Division at the Shenxin Forced Labor Camp. His wife has been out of work, their child is in elementary school, and both of the couple's elderly parents need care. Mr. Li Hongwei has refused to comply to unreasonable demands, and he was physically abused by labor camp guards. He suffered from appendicitis and a high fever. The labor camp authorities have refused to release him despite his dangerous condition.

Mr. Shi Geng, 44, has been held at a detention center. On April 4, he was put on trial at the Shenhe District and unlawfully sentenced to three years in prison. Thanks to an attorney hired by his parents who stood up for justice, Mr. Shi is to serve his term outside prison, and he returned home on April 4.

2. [Nanping City, Fujian Province] Practitioners Mr. Yang Liansheng and Ms. Lin Xiangmei Secretly Put on Trial Twice

Mr. Yang Liansheng and Ms. Lin Xiangmei, practitioners from Nanping City, have been unlawfully held in custody for over six months. On April 17 and April 25, 2007, they were secretly put on trial. Despite numerous inquiries from their families, the authorities have refused to reveal any information. When Ms. Lin made a few statements insisting on her innocence, she was scolded, handcuffed and lifted off the floor right in the courtroom. No information about Mr. Yang is available. There are six practitioners unlawfully held at the Nanping Detention Center.

In addition, Ms. Liao Fengzhu, a practitioner in Nanping City who was taken into custody in March 2007, managed to get out with righteous thoughts in mind. She returned home on April 20.

3. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Yan Wencheng and Wife Taken into Custody

Mr. Yan Wencheng, 52, is a practitioner from Wujiawa Village in Yishui Town, Yishui County. On September 4, 2005, his home was unlawfully searched, his computer was confiscated, and 30,000 yuan in cash was taken. He and his wife were forced to stay out of town. Their daughter was not yet 18 years old, yet she was unlawfully sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Prior to May 1, 2007, Mr. Yan and his wife returned home. They were reported to the authorities. On the morning of May 2, a dozen or so officers from the Yishui County State Security Division, the 610 Office, the Beijiao Police Station, and Yishui Town arrived in four police vehicles. They searched Mr. Yan's home and took away two personal computers, one printer, and two MP3 players.

4. [Qingyuan County, Hebei Province] Yangcheng Town Officials Continue to Harass Practitioners

On April 27, 2007, officials from the Yangcheng Town Comprehensive Administrative Office in Qingyuan County went to villages in its jurisdiction to harass practitioners. The officials forcibly took a practitioner from Xisunzhuang Village to the town's government building, confiscating a Falun Dafa book. The practitioner was unconditionally released shortly afterwards.

6. [Hejian City, Hebei Province] Follow-up Report on Practitioners Unlawfully Detained

On the evening of April 30, 2007, practitioners Ms. Chen Shuwen and Ms. Wang Dafen from Hejian City were distributing truth-clarifying materials in their local township. They were turned in to the police. Officers at the Longhuadian Township Police Station detained the two practitioners and took them to the Hejian City Police Department's Detention Center. On the following day, the director of the Longhuadian Police Station led officers to search the practitioners' homes. The officers also harassed other practitioners in the township and searched their homes.

7. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Police from Siping City Arrest a Practitioner Who Works Odd Jobs in Changchun City, Jilin Province

Around April 30, 2007, officers from Siping City, Jilin Province forcibly took a practitioner with the last name of Li (gender unknown) into custody in Changchun City where Li does odd jobs.

8. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Officers from Xiangyang Police Station Broke into Practitioner Ms. Wu Fengling's Home to Unlawfully Arrest Her

In November 2006, Ms. Wu Fengling went to visit a fellow practitioner and was detained by officers from the Xiangyang Police Station. At the police station, the officers tried to force Ms. Wu to step on portraits of Falun Gong's Teacher. She refused. As a result, the officers brutally beat her and took her to the detention center, where she became unable to urinate. A medical examination determined that she had a tumor in her uterus. She was taken home three days later on medial parole,and there is a pending investigation.

At 8:15 a.m. on April 26, 2007, four officers pounded on Ms. Wu's door when she had just finished breakfast. The officers also kept calling Ms. Wu's home phone. This lasted for about ten minutes. A professional locksmith was called in, who opened the door. The officers broke in and entered the room. They did not follow any legal procedures nor offer any explanation, and they simply took Ms. Wu Fengling away. Ms. Wu was still showing symptoms during her medical examination. She was nonetheless locked in the Mudanjiang No. 2 Detention Center the same day.

9. [Luyi County, Henan Province] Teacher Dismissed from School for Clarifying the Truth to Students

A teacher (gender unknown) at a school in Luyi County, Henan Province is a practitioner. They gave an amulet (1) to a student. The student's parents were not aware of the facts and turned the teacher in to the police. The police department applied pressure to the school authorities and the practitioner was dismissed.

10. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Zheng Shuqing's Home Unlawfully Searched

Practitioner Ms. Zheng Yanquan, 17, is part of the Yanjiang No. 7 Production Team in Songjiang Township, Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. She was found carrying Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials at the Jilin City Railroad Station. Under coercive interrogation, she admitted that she got the material from her aunt. Officers from the Jilin City State Security Department, the Jilin City Police Department, the Jiaohe City Police Department, and the Songjiang Township Police Station arrived in three police vehicles at Ms. Zheng Shuqing's home in the Yanjiang No. 7 Production Team in Songjiang Township around 10:00 a.m. on May 2, 2007. The officers did not leave until after 2:00 p.m. that afternoon. They took away a DVD player, two Falun Dafa books, and 40 yuan in cash.

11. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Officers at the State Security Department, the Police Department and the 610 Office Continue Persecuting Practitioners

After 8:00 p.m. on April 26, 2007, Yi Wei (male), deputy commissioner of the Xingwen County Police Department, Sun Wenchao (male), head of the State Security Division, Ye Zhangxue (male), deputy head of the State Security Division, and She Chenggen (male), director of the 610 Office, led approximately twenty other officers to unlawfully search the homes of nine practitioners including Mr. Fan Yuanduo, Mr. Liu Qiming, and Ms. Wei Zaifang. The officers took away Falun Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, an MP3 player, and other items from Ms. Wei's home. Ms. Wei was forcibly taken to a detention center.

12. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] More Information on the Arrests of Several Practitioners

In mid-February 2007, practitioner Mr. Zhao Huanzhen was arrested in Shanhaiguan District, Qinhuangdao City while he was clarifying the truth. Ms. Wen Danquan and other practitioners were arrested on April 14. It was learned on May 3 that from within the six practitioners arrested on April 14, Mr. Yang Xiaoyong was sentenced to 18 months in prison, Mr. Zheng Zhicheng remained in custody at the Qinhuangdao No. 1 Detention Center, and Ms. Wei Danquan, Mr. Cheng Chao, Mr. Liu Changfu, and Ms. An Yumin were unlawfully sentenced to forced labor. Mr. Cheng Chao was unlawfully sentenced to fifteen months of forced labor and had been taken to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City, Hebei Province.

13. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Falun Gong Materials Production Site Sabotaged by Police

A Falun Gong materials production site in the Xisongzhuang area of Qingchi Town, Hanting District, Weifang City, Shandong Province was sabotaged around April 18 and April 19, 2007. The police confiscated a photocopier, a set of large paper cutters, a personal computer, two motorcycles, a laminating machine, and other office supplies and household items.

14. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Mr. Jiang Yihou Unlawfully Detained and His Home Searched

Mr. Jiang Yihou, 66, is a practitioner from the development zone in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. On the morning of April 28, he was clarifying the truth and was reported to the administrators in the Xiangtai Residential Community. They in turn reported him to the Wanli Police Station. Officers from the Wanli Police Station and the development zone's 610 Office detained Mr. Jiang Yihou the same night and took him to the development zone detention center. Mr. Jiang's home was also searched.

15. [Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] Police Arrest Practitioner Ms. Cao Weihong

At around 7:00 p.m. on May 1, 2007, Xia Shuikai (male), from the Yuehu District Police Department in Yingtan City, led a group of officers to break into the kindergarten operated by practitioner Ms. Cao Weihong. The officers were attempting to arrest Mr. Cao, but they did not find him there. The officers notified police officers in the Guixi City 610 Office to intercept Mr. Cao Weihong at the Guixi Bridge, and he was to return from Guixi City to Yingtan City. Mr. Cao remains in custody at the detention center.

17. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Ms. Wang Riqing and Ms. Li Yue Forcibly Taken to Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wang Riqing, about 60 years old, and Ms. Li Yue, 37, are practitioners from Jinzhou District in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. On the evening of April 8, 2007, they went to the Jinzhou Railroad Station to post truth-clarifying signs and were detained by the police. The two practitioners were taken to the Qianshan Road Drug Rehabilitation Center and unlawfully held there for fifteen days. In late April, they were transferred to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City, Liaoning Province.

18. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

On April 18, 2007, four practitioners from Gaoping District in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province were distributing truth-clarifying materials. Practitioner Zhao (gender unknown) was caught by police officers who had suddenly arrived. The police got the names of the other three practitioners from Zhao. The same night, the police detained Ms. Liu Siqing at her home. On April 21, Ms. Zhang Ya was detained at her home. The other practitioner managed to get away with righteous thoughts. Ms. Liu Siqing is being held at the Huafeng Detention Center.

19. [Tangyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Shukun and Ms. Jiang Hong Taken into Custody

On the morning of April 29, Xing Guili (gender unknown) and another officer from the Dongcheng Police Station in Tangyuan County, Heilongjiang Province entered a residential home using the excuse of examining their residential records. They spotted practitioners and Falun Dafa books, and immediately called the police department. Zhou Tiegang (male) and his team from the Political Security Division rushed to the home. The officers took Ms. Liu Shukun and Ms. Jiang Hong into custody. They unlawfully searched the place while the owner was not present, confiscating a personal computer and Falun Dafa books. When an adolescent tried to intervene, Zhou Tiegang and other officers took the child to the police department as well. An elderly family member, who came from out of town for a visit, was scared and suffered from heart complications. Four officers violently threw Ms. Jiang Hong into the police vehicle. Ms. Jiang and Ms. Liu remain in custody at the county detention center.

20. [Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Ma Mingyi Taken into Custody

On or about April 20, 2007, Ms. Ma Mingyi, a practitioner at the PetroChina Jilin Design Institute, was taken into custody at work for accessing sensitive web sites.

21. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Jiao Wenlan Unlawfully Sent to Labor Camp

Ms. Jiao Wenlan, 60, is a practitioner from Tonghua City, Jilin Province. On April 2, she was taken to a detention center. She developed severe symptoms of high blood pressure and heart disease. Subsequent examinations cost her around 5,000 yuan. On April 27, she was unlawfully sentenced to fifteen months of forced labor and was taken to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Her family has not been allowed to visit her.

22. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Supplementary Information on Arrested Practitioners

On April 18, practitioner Ms. Wang Changxiu was taken into custody. On the afternoon of April 24, plainclothes state security officers arrived in three vehicles to arrest Ms. Wang Changxiu's daughter-in-law, practitioner Ms. Wu Faqin. After 5:00 p.m. Ms. Wu's husband returned from work. The plainclothes officers tried to drag him into the car so they could steal the keys to his home. Ms. Wang's husband refused to give in. Neighbors were just getting off work, and the officers had to give up. Soon the officers noticed Ms. Wu's father-in-law was escorting his grandson back from school. The officers forcibly took the grandfather and grandson to the Nanxia Police Station. They got the key by unlawfully searching the older gentleman's pockets and rushed back to his home. The officers opened the door but found no one at home. Unsatisfied, the officers came back the third time to drive away a van that belongs to Ms. Wu's family.

In addition, Ms. Wang Leying was taken into custody as she went to Ms. Wu Faqin's home on the evening of April 24, 2007.

23. [Tianjin] Practitioner Ms. Yao Shilan Arrested

On the afternoon of April 4, 2007, Huang Shouqing (male), director of a village security office in Changtun Village, Dajianchang Town, Wuqing District, led several police officers from the police department and the town's police station to arrive at practitioner Ms. Yao Shilan's home in a gray Shanghai Santana car. The officers climbed over the wall into the courtyard since the gate was locked. The officers smashed open the door and confiscated Teacher's portrait and Falun Dafa books. They forcibly took Ms. Yao to the Wuqing District Detention Center.

On April 25, 2007, Ms. Yao's daughter went to the detention center to visit her mother. Detention center officials told her that Ms. Yao was not there. She had been sentenced to three and a half years in prison and had been taken to Tianjin. Ms. Yao's whereabouts remain unknown.

During the past seven years, Ms. Yao Shilan had been unlawfully detained several times. She had been sent to a forced labor camp twice.

24. [Beijing] Practitioner Ms. An Yurong Taken into Custody

At around 3:00 p.m. on May 2, 2007, as practitioner Ms. An Yurong from Beijing was distributing truth-clarifying materials, she was taken into custody by officers at the Yangfangdian Police Station in Haidian District, Beijing. Ms. An is being held at the Haidian District Police Department. The police searched her home the same night, confiscating a copy of the book Zhuan Falun.
