Taiwan: One Sample of Many - Snapshots of a Chiayi Practice Site (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) In Taiwan, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners practice the exercises at numerous practice sites every day. During the past several years, every Sunday afternoon several Chiayi practitioners have practiced at the Renyi Lake Dam, attracting the attention of many tourists.

Upon hearing the relaxing and serene Falun Gong exercise music, tourists often stop to watch or ask for information. Some also learn the exercises at the site.

A practitioner at this practice site said, "Renyi Lake is very beautiful and attracts many tourists every year. This is one reason that we set up this practice site to promote Dafa."

Falun Dafa was introduced to Chiayi in 1998 and soon gained popularity in the region, due to its prominent effectiveness in improving health and uplifting morality. Typically, practitioners practice in the morning. To accommodate those when cannot join the morning practice, local practitioners set up this afternoon practice site.

While most practitioners are doing the exercises, there is always one practitioner distributing Falun Gong brochures near the truth-clarifying posters. A practitioner said, "Tourists often find our practice very interesting. When they see our peaceful exercises and the fact that every practitioner is practicing with deep inner joy, they often want to know more or try the exercises."

Upon seeing photos revealing the brutal persecution in China, tourists often ask questions. A practitioner said, "In general, people are often shocked if it is their first time seeing these graphic photos. However, after we tell them about the persecution, they all condemn it and express their admiration for the practitioners' courage."
