Master Reminds Me to Be Compassionate in a Dream

(Clearwisdom.net) My father also studies Dafa and tells people that Falun Dafa is good. However, when something involves his personal interests, he can be sentimental or fearful. He has strong parental feelings toward me. Sometimes he uses Master's name with respect, but sometimes he is not respectful. Actually, as I write these words, I am still emotional about this: What he does repulses me. I think he is not clear minded, and I even look down on him. Sometimes he repeatedly asks foolish questions. I used to explain things to him patiently, but recently I have not paid any attention to him at all.

One day I had a dream. Father told me he called the US and Master took the call. I said it was impossible. How could Master take your phone call? So I took the phone, and it was really Master's voice. Master immediately greeted me. Then my father asked Master some simple questions that I did not have the patience to answer (because I think such questions are answered in the books and I have explained them to him often). But over the phone, Master used limitless compassion and a gentle tone to answer his questions patiently. I was shocked. I saw my shortcoming immediately. I knew Master was enlightening me that I did not use enough compassion in my treatment of other people.

"Compassion comes from a person's cultivation, and it's not something that's acted out; it comes from deep inside, and it's not something done to show others. It's something that exists eternally, and it doesn't change with the passage of time or changes in circumstances." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Washington DC Fa Conference")

My father is providing a cultivation environment for me. Usually, I think about clarifying the truth and saving people, but I have forgotten that "Upgrading levels is fundamental."("Hong Yin" Vol. II, English translation version B). If we do not elevate ourselves, one of the three things is not done well, and the Dafa work will be obstructed. Really, we cannot be lax. We should continue to work hard.
