Whereas, Falun Gong practitioners believe in living according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, benefiting society and promoting peaceful relations among all people in the world, and

Whereas, in 15 years Falun Gong grew rapidly in popularity attracting tens of millions inside China and world-wide, and

Whereas, in 1999, Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin unleashed a campaign of terror against the Falun Gong, ordering the group be wiped out, practitioners being brutalized and killed, and

Whereas, the Falun Gong is actively, but peacefully, resisting this ongoing persecution, be it

Resolved, that as a duly elected Member of the State Assembly of New York, I recognize that we have an outstanding organization, one that is striving for the universal ideals of truth, justice and freedom, in the

Falun Gong
