California: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in Parade Celebrating the 91st Anniversary of Monterey Park (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 19, the city of Monterey Park, California held a
parade to celebrate its 91st anniversary. Falun Gong
practitioners from Los Angeles participated and were awarded first place in the

five city council members are Chinese. To celebrate its 91st
anniversary, the city government held a series of activities, including Play
Days, a concert and a parade from May 17 to 20. The parade started at 11 a.m.
More than 200 groups started from Garvey Blvd. and marched through the town. The
United States Army Volunteers Reserves, consisting of Chinese people, and dragon
dance team led the parade. Consisting of large banners, a waist drum team, a dance team, flag team and a
big float with lotus flowers, the Falun Gong practitioners' group was one of the
largest in the parade. Practitioners were warmly welcomed by the spectators and
were awarded first place in the float contest and second place in the dance
contest.
