On Changing Work Environments

(Clearwisdom.net) I started practicing Falun Dafa in July 2004. I want to briefly discuss my experience of changing work environments to serve as a reference for fellow practitioners who have attachments to their jobs. Before I started practicing Dafa, I was employed doing entry level general support work. I was eager to advance to a supervisory position, preferably as a manager at the main office, because I felt very confident about my capabilities. However, my hope was not realized despite everything I tried. During this time, I used some improper methods to try to attain my goal, such as giving presents, asking other people to put in a good word for me, and so on. In the end, the results were not good. After I studied the Fa, I realized that an average person's life is predestined. There are only two ways to change the path of a person's life: either by stepping onto the path of cultivation or endlessly committing bad deeds. From that moment on, I did my work earnestly, made sure that I was honest, and stopped reaching for what was beyond my grasp. I achieved the state of having "a calm mind like still water" regarding the work issue.

At the beginning of 2006, after I had been studying the Fa with a calm mind, my company suddenly wanted to transfer me to the main office to be a manager. I had not asked anyone related to this situation to help me. My supervisor did not want to let me go because, as a practitioner, I always fulfilled my responsibilities wholeheartedly. My supervisor would also have a very hard time finding an appropriate candidate to fill my position. My supervisor did not tell me about this opportunity, but instead asked the main office to look for another candidate because he did not want me to be transferred to headquarters. After several days, the main office actually demanded that I be transferred. Later I learned that many other people were interested in this position and they had spent a lot of money giving gifts and had asked others to put in a good word for them in order to be granted this position. My supervisor had no choice but to let me go. When looking at this circumstance from a superficial level, it was because of my conscientious hard work that the main office demanded I work there, but in my heart I know the true reason!

My work conditions changed tremendously when I transferred to the main office. I now have my own office equipped with an Internet-ready computer and printer. I know these are the convenient conditions Master arranged for me to validate Dafa. I will certainly use them well to assist Master in Fa-rectification.

Because of my cultivation, Master changed my life path.

When I was no longer attached to my work environment, my work environment radically changed for the better.
