Righteous Thoughts or Human Notions?
(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, an evil incident happened in Changchun City.
Over thirty practitioners were arrested when they attended a Fa Conference.
Later on, many other practitioners were harassed by local police officers. Some
were forced to flee their homes and become homeless to avoid arrest, and some
were arrested by the police. In regard to this incident, I would like to share
with fellow practitioners the following. As a Dafa disciple, no matter what we encounter we should always look inside
and examine how we think, and weigh every thought with the requirement of Dafa. When hearing about this incident, I was shocked. It is my understanding that
nowadays a lot of evil factors have already been eliminated. If only a few of
those wicked, rotten demons are left, I could not understand why this huge
arrest had happened. I thought that these practitioners must have big loopholes
in their xinxing. Afterwards, many other thoughts came to my
mind: one practitioner did not stay within the Fa and had attachments of wanting
to do everything to validate himself, and another practitioner pursued glorious
achievements and had the attachment to fame. Yet another practitioner did not
cultivate well and did not truly treat the Fa as the guide for cultivation. All
of my thoughts were complaints and criticism. Knowing that practitioners who had
contacted the arrested practitioners had also been arrested, I was worried,
anxious and could not calm myself down. I blamed the arrested practitioners who
had caused other practitioners' arrests for not guarding their xinxing
and revealing other practitioners' information to the evildoers. I had looked
externally and even felt that I was in the right. After sharing with fellow practitioners, we realized that we should send the
information of this incident to the Minghui/Clearwisdom website as soon as
possible, and that we needed to look inside and learn our lesson; the whole body
needs to improve. However, because I looked outside and considered the matter in
and of itself, my xinxing did not improve through the process of writing
the article. Therefore, I was not able to find the fundamental problems and
wanted to give up on writing it several times. Finally, I calmed my mind and
looked within. I then realized that I had not cultivated myself during this
incident and always looked for others' problems. My heart was moved at the very
beginning, and lacked the forbearance and benevolence that a cultivator should
have. I came to understand that if our hearts are not affected when we encounter
things, we can restrain the evil; otherwise, the evil will find an excuse to
persecute us. Master told us that sentimentality is a demon. I came to
understand that complaining, accusation, worrying and being anxious are all
human notions and sentimentality that will not contribute anything positive to
this incident. When we blame fellow practitioners, aren't we acknowledging the
evil's persecution of those practitioners? Isn't this the same as siding with
the evil? Aren't we fostering the demons? Only if we have righteous thoughts,
compassion and benevolence can we eliminate the evil and help fellow
practitioners. However, human notions can never play a positive role. Of course, this is not to say that we cannot point out the shortcomings of
fellow practitioners. The most important thing is that we point them out with a
cultivator's benevolence and not criticism based on human notions. Depending on
whether we have righteous thoughts or human notions, we either help
practitioners to correct their shortcomings through Fa study and cultivation or
acknowledge the so-called tests arranged by the old forces. No matter what we
encounter, if we can measure every thought according to Dafa, look inside and
cultivate ourselves, then the evil will have no place to hide. Through solid
cultivation, we can make use of this persecution of Dafa and Dafa disciples to
eliminate the evil, clarify the facts, and save sentient beings. We should walk
well this last stage of cultivation with the righteous thoughts of a god. May 13, 2007
