Dafa Gave My Father a Second Life

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 5, 2006, due to excretory system problems my father was admitted to hospital care. The diagnosis was determined to be stomach cancer. The ability of his stomach to function had dramatically decreased. His stomach was weak and he could only take in fluids for nourishment. His doctor, the deputy chief of doctors, told me that due to his age and weak condition, surgery would not be safe. They would have to take out the entire stomach, but the wounds near the small intestine would not heal well. The chief doctor, who was the deputy director of the hospital, and three deputy chiefs, as well as another doctor had similar opinions. I listened to their explanations in shock. Could it be that my 77-year-old father would finish his journey in life? Suddenly I remembered two weeks ago that I dreamed of my father's passing. My little brother, who is also a practitioner, dreamed that the environment my father was living in was being made very bad by our fourth brother's daughter-in-law praying to a tablet of a fox. Although we urged her to stop many times, she would not listen. My father believed in Dafa, but was scared of the persecution, and did not do any truth clarifying work. He did not practice the exercises, and wasn't diligent in studying the Fa. My little brother and I enlightened to the understanding that this was Father's test. It was the old forces' fierce persecution on his body. At the same time it was a test for us as well.

Just like Master said in the Eighth Talk in Zhuan Falun,

"When your family or friends are suffering, are you affected inside? And are you able to keep these things in perspective? Being a cultivator is that hard!"

We put our state of minds in perspective, and saw father as a normal sentient being that we should do our best to save. We believed that Master could help Father pass this difficult test. That same night we talked with our father, and recommended he read Master's new articles and the poem, "True Nature Revealed" from Essentials for Further Advancement II,

"Steadfastly cultivate Dafa, the will unflinching

The raising of levels is what's fundamental

In the face of tests one's true nature is revealed

Achieve Consummation, becoming a Buddha, Dao, or God".

We also asked our father to silently say, "Falun Dafa is good." The purpose of this was to have Father recognize that this was his test and tribulation on the level of the Fa principle and it was the old force's persecution. We knew that if he only was firm and steady in his beliefs in Dafa and Master, every manifestation of sickness and karma be nullified. At the same time we constantly sent righteous thoughts, completely eradicating every evil that persecuted my father's body. We did not recognize the arrangements set up by the old forces. Just like this, on the third day, Father's spirit took a turn for the better. On November 10, the doctor, who was also my classmate, gave me a prescription, and told me to treat the illness with medication at home.

I understood the doctor's words. That afternoon I took my father home. The village doctor treated my father with acupuncture for three days. My father's body couldn't handle it so he rested a few days before doing acupuncture again. In this period of time we constantly used the principles of the Fa to converse with our dad. Other fellow practitioners also helped send righteous thoughts for Father, and to clean the environment of our father's home. This helped him truly increase his firm belief in Master and Dafa. He got to the point where he was listening and studying the Fa, and sending righteous thoughts every day. My father suffered the symptoms of cancer for 56 days. He lost his excretory function and had to have people help him eat and take care of all his basic needs. With Master's blessings, after three days of acupuncture after coming home from the hospital, without any more medication, my 77-year-old father's "disease" was cured.

I feel thankful to Master and Dafa or giving my father a second life. Now my father can once again eliminate properly. His stomach recovered its function. He can eat anything. He even started to take walks. His face is clearly fuller and healthy looking, like someone without illness.

Last year I visited my father at home for a few days. I found that his appetite was good and his body was very healthy. I realized that it was the practitioner's bliss, given by Master's compassion. My father now continually listens to the Fa every day. He hasn't learned the exercise movements completely. At night he frequently saw Master's picture radiate light. I believe this was Master encouraging us to become even more diligent, to firmly and steadily do the three things Master taught us to do well, and to fulfill our prehistoric promises to assist Master in Fa-rectification.
