Ms. Zhang Zhongyue and Three Other Practitioners from Guangshan County, Henan Province, Were Arrested and Had Money Extorted from Them

(Clearwisdom.net) At around 11:30 p.m. on January 27, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Dong Yurong, 50, and Ms. Zhang Zhongyue, 45, an employer in the Guangshan County Livestock Farming Bureau, went to the area near Chengnan Police Station to post truth-clarification posters. The local police arrested them. On January 28, 29, and 30, three other practitioners--Hu Qingxian, Chen Lianghe, and Yuan--were arrested and their homes were searched. The police handcuffed Mr. Yuan behind his back and tortured him for an entire night. The next day his family was had 5000 yuan extorted from them for his release. The other practitioners are still illegally detained in the Guangshan County Detention Center.

The police brutally persecuted the practitioners in detention. They deprived them of sleep day and night. They cursed and beat them, tried to coerce them to "confess," and handcuffed them behind their backs. Two practitioners were taken to the new train station to be tortured in secret. Police officer Qu Yingde kicked a practitioner who was handcuffed behind his back down to the ground and stepped on the practitioner's neck, allowing other officers to then take turns torturing him.

In addition, the Guangshan County 610 Office and police department told the families of practitioners that they would release the practitioners if the families paid a certain amount of money before February 16, i.e. Chinese New Year's eve. At the same time, they intensively interrogated and tortured the the practitioners. At the time, the police department and the Procuratorate issued so-called "arrest warrants" for Zhang Zhongyue, Dong Yurong, Hu Qingxian, and Chen Lianghe. It was said that the police held the warrants and did not deliver them to the practitioners' families until the Lantern Festival.
