Toronto, Canada: Falun Gong Practitioners Awarded at May Day Festival for their Contributions to the Community (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 5, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners were invited
to participate in Toronto's May Day multi-cultural festival celebration. The
same day, Falun Gong practitioners presented art performances for local
residents in five places, including Richmond Hill, Markham, Thornhill, Vaughan
and Stouffville. The practitioners efforts were highly praised. Lian Hua Arts Group young performers perform the Lotus dance Lian Hua Arts Group is Awarded The Divine Land Marching Band, Lian Hua Arts Group and the Exercise
Demonstration Group composed of Falun Gong practitioners presented dance, music
and Falun Gong exercise demonstrations for local residents in many sites both
indoors and outdoors, and they were warmly received by the sponsor and the
audience. After finishing their last performance, Mario G. Racco, a member of the
Ontario Provincial Parliament, issued an award to Falun Gong practitioners on
behalf of the sponsor. They thanked Falun Gong practitioners for their
contribution to the communities of Canada. According to the coordinator of the sponsor-Community Living York South
Anita, the organization has celebrated the May Day Festival for eight years. In
the first seven years, the celebrations were held only in Stouffville. This
year, the celebrations were extended to five places. The purpose is to have
people of different ages and backgrounds celebrate together and live in harmony
in the same community.
